Hi. I have a bag seed that I planted and sprouted back in mid august. It was doing well and when it was time to re-pot it about 4-5 weeks later I decided to try transferring it to a hydro setup. Being the newb that I am- I definitely made quite a few mistakes. 1) bought the fox farm hydro nutes... 2) I followed the fox farm schedule and didn't use 1/4 strength nutes and burned it the first few days. I changed the water immediately after realizing my mistake but it was too late.. and as a result the bottom set of leaves burned off and the next two sets also got burned. At the reservoir change I put in <1/4 strength grow big and 1/2 big bloom. Since then the burn hasnt seem to have progressed much and the new growth seems to be ok. I got a TDS meter recently and today I checked the PPM to be about 380 and the pH to be about 5.8-6.
The current set up is a 15g reservoir (filled to about 11g)-water is probably 1/2" -1" above the bottom of the bubble bucket. with one of those 20-60gallon aquarium pumps and airstones inside. Inside that I put 3 bubble buckets each filled with hydroton. Then I also have a 185 gph pump underneath with a DIY halo drip system that I am running at 15min every hour. I have this plant under 3- 65 watt 6500k CFLs (2 are 3.5 inches away, one is 2.5 inches away) 24/7. Oscillating fan runs also for a gentle breeze and temps are around 82-84 degrees.
I think she's been majorly stunted from all the stress... and looks way smaller than my friends 3 week old... will stress this early make her more likely to become a male? In one of the pics theres some tiny what seems to be like leaves coming out of the nodes- does that mean anything? she seems too immature to be showing preflowers... Shes currently been in the reservoir for 10 days since transplant and 8 days since I changed out the water. How much longer before you suggest that I change it out next? Since the PPM is 380 should I try upping the nutes a little? I also have a 600w MH set up but I dont know if she's ready for that yet. I had problems with heat burn on my last soil grow and need to find a better way to ventilate. I would really like some advice as how to best optimize my setup and continue.
Thanks!
