advise on drying

i just harvested my 1st plant and i cut all the leaf off the buds and got a box and hung string across it and cut a 6 inch by 6 inch hole on one side of the box and hung all my buds on the string. is this a good way to dry?

also how much weight will my buds lose after im done drying it all the way?

Try doing a search, some questions gets asked 100000's of times so you will find the good answers there

its fine for drying as long as it dries slowly or at least 4-5 days anything dried faster than that will most likely smell like nothing or hay due to chloryphyl taste locked in and it wont cure out. As for loss you should expect to lose 65-75% when fully dried if not a bit more.

i never weigh before i dry it makes me too sad.

i bet you got the box idea from the green guy on youtube huh?

Exactly! If your grow weighs 28 grams, your gonna end up with about 7 dried, more or less.:spew:

Box with rack worked for me, (see completed grow in signature) then a couple days later, when they were crispy to the touch jarred em to cure.
