Advises, explanations for my problem

Hello everybody,
a friend gave me a seed and i'm trying to make it grow...just for curiosity and for fun...
but i want to make it grow the most natural possible...normal water, normal soil, normal temperature, everything but the light, i give it normal sun light then some more hours with a normal bulb making 18 hours of light...
she's still very little and now she's started to curl in the tip of the leaves...can anyone help me and tell me whats wrong with my plant...?? i water every morning a little bit...tought it was overwater so i reduce...
can anyone help me??

a regular bulb wont work at all u need to at least get a few cfls

what about the curly leaf tips...and a little pale green in the leafs...im so scared she's gonna die...

You're over watering and unless the soil is organic or maybe has time-released nutes.... you prolly washed out a lot of the fertilizer in the soil. Just to give you an idea of the kinda schedule to be on...... with a recent grow of mine... I only watered 3 times in the first 44 days of the clones life. That was a good soaking in 1 gallon of soil with average to low humidity.

Now I'm not saying to wait that long between waterings but you gotta pay attention to the plant.

i knew it was overwatered...
and what sould i do now?
i've already changed all the soil...but then it was dry and i put a little bit of water...this was yesterday...sould i change all the soil again? or just let it be

Soak the soil one time real good then see how light the container feels in a week. If it still feels heavy, wait until it lightens up before you water again.

IF you're serious, you'll probably need to do some reading. RIU's FAQ's are pretty readable.

You could pull off what you're trying to do (minus the incandescent bulb) if you live in the Southern Hemisphere, but it's too late up North. Plants can't drink water very well a little at a time. Water only when plant needs it, thoroughly, until it comes out the bottom of your container, in several place, then drain, drain, drain.

i live in the south near the african mediterrean...
its a fine weather...and i want my plant to grow normaly...like any other plant...
and what about the bulb? that is a cfl right?

you need more light man. I had my one plant under 2 - 30watt cfls and i took one off cuz a seedling sprouted next to my plant.. the next morning i check on my plant and it was drooping severely and the leaves were starting to curl...light is definetly your problem..i suggest puttin at least 2 cfls on it for now till you can afford better lighting..im kinda in the same predicament....good lcuk

Does your bulb have some info on the base closest to the actual tubes? I've a similar one that says "FDL18LE" which I googled to find mine is the equivilent 75 watts incandescent. I couldn't tell for sure if these are considered cfls. I do think these are fleurescent? Be careful. They get HOT.
The ones I've seen on here generally look like a spiral 4"-5" inches long

Definately agree about getting a CFL on it.

If you live in the southern hemisphere, you should scout out a nice place to do an outdoor grow if possible in your area. You can veg it inside to establish it, then transplant outdoors.

Also, don't worry about overwatering at this stage, water until it comes out the bottom, then wait until the pot feels lighter. Also a spray of water will help once a day, they love humidity.

If your growing outdoors, you might want to till and enrixh the soil with Bone Meal, Blood Meal, some Dolomite Lime for pH, maybe some guano if available, or earthworm castings. That's as organic as it gets. Dig a nice hole and till the soil really well hope this helped.

There's a lot of info in the GrowFAQ, if you have any questions, there are plenty of people here with good advice, but you have to decide for yourself what's good advice and whats questionable, that's why the FAQ is a good place to get info.

well i got a cfl now...
she seems to be more strong...but i really dont get the water thing...
i've been in all the faq and still dont get it...
i remove all the soil a couple of days ago cause she was overwatered..then i gave her just a little bit of water...and now...after seen a documentary...since yesterday i only gave her water with a sprinkler when the top soil was dry...and i guess i will continue doing that...
should i just continue doing that...or should i make a transplant again? and then after the transplant what should i do? fill with water till come off the bottom? and leave it?
i really dont know...it's so frustrating...

This same thing has happened to two of my leaves by the look of it. To me it happened later on in the plants life, about 2 - 3 weeks and it happened to the first two proper leaves, like yours. I have no idea what it is though but my plant seems to be doing ok ish.

strangely enough I'm doing the same exact thing as bmw. my plant is only about an inch tall and I'm using a "sunlight" ultra violet 30 watt lamp that i let hang about 4 inches above the plant. will this work at all?
