Aeration/drainage stones in bottom of fabric pots?

I got a free sample, a small bag of these recycled glass aeration stone things and was thinking of putting some in the bottom of my 3 gallon GeoPots when I transplant. Is this necessary? Will it hurt the plants? The girls are small, so I don't think they will need all the water the 3 gallon pots can hold. Would they drain better with stones? I've heard the GeoPots have good drainage just by themselves, I am just wondering whether using the stones will screw with the air pruning or something.
