Aero clones to flood and drain ??????

So I am running a 4x4 flood and drain SOG grow using 6inx6in net pots filled with hydroton. Previously I was rooting clones in rockwool cubes with a heating mat. I have now built an aero cloner with the neroprene sleves and am wondering how to transfer from the aero to the hydroton with out rockwool? Do i just move the hydroton out of the way and push it back over the roots of the clone? Will the clone be able to support itself? My main reason for wanting to use the aero cloner is to eliminate the rockwool will this be possible. Thanks alot for any help.

i just let the roots get long in the aero cloner than take the clone and put it into the hydroton by removing some of the hydroton from the net pot and snaking the roots of the clone around the outer perimiter of the net pot. cover gently with hydroton and all is well. i go from aero cloner to larger aero though not flood and drain but i dont think there would be much difference. And to answer your question yes the hydroton supports my clones ok. just make sure you get the clone down into the net pot aways so the hydroton will support it.
