aero, hydro, or soil?

Dumb noobie question, probably, but isn't that what this forum is for?

Which method do you prefer and why? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each method?

From what I've heard:

Soil is easiest and cheapest to get started with. Some people say the final product tastes better.

Hydro and aero are more expensive to set up and require more maintenance. The hydro method allows the plant to absorb the nutrients more easily which makes for a faster grow and a heavier yield: aero even more so.

Its exactly what you said. I prefer soil myself because I grow outdoors and all you need is a good soil, water and some fertilizers

Never tried hydroponics or even aeroponics, its a bit more expensive and requires maintainance like you said, so you choose what best suits you

Thanks for the feedback, mi amigo!

Anyone else got any thoughts? I'd especially like to hear the views of people who have experience with both methods.

One question I have is, which would be easier to leave unattended for two or three days if I went away for the weekend and I couldn't find a baby-sitter?

i am planning my growhouse now an because i wont be around for two weeks of the month evry month i can just use a big resevoir with nutes in and a pump then leave to run to waste but even if you wernt running to waste if you have it on a circulating system then you only need to change the water of a minimum of once evry ten days so if you do that and have you lights on timers then you could spend a weekend away with no worries

Hydro is hands down the best to leave unattended for any amount of time if setup correctly. It also is pretty cheap since the most expensive part of your average hydro setup from a DIY standpoint is the pump. You need lights if using soil or hydro and those are what set me back countless numbers of hookers and blow.... j/k
