Aero Scrog - Leaf Problems (Great pics)

So these plants are about 6wks old. Screen is pretty full, I'd say 70 to 80% and I'm about to switch it into flowering.

I'm running an Aero/NFT setup, was using Organic nutes (botanicare, Stinkbud's formula). My room temps are good, running at 86F maximum, usually sits at 82 to 83 with 50% humidity. I'm running co2 on a Sentinel controller, so everything as far as the environment goes is in good shape.

I had reservoir problems (rez was at 82F) but I bought a chiller and now it sits at 66F consistently. I've since ditched the organic nutes in favor of the Advanced Nutrients 3-part. I'm wondering if the problem with these leaves is from the high reservoir temps. It isn't on every node, nor is it on every plant, but I'm curious as to what people may think it is, so let me know.

nutrient burn my friend i use a 10 part AN solution and i know first hand how easy it is to burn your plants with these nutes, be careful and remember less is more

Cool man, thanks for the input... now that you mention it they did spike at about 1300ppm with the organics back when the rez was really warm, so it makes sense. Especially since it hasn't gotten any worse in the last week or so.

why no ogranics? the beni bacts may stain the roots but if the plant is doing fine no reason to worry, and they help the plant to build its own immune system again harmful bacts

Well, here's how it went...

I had organics going an everything was going swell. Got hit with a super-hot week (gro is in the attic, so temp control can be a biatch), and the rez kicked up into the low to mid 80's and I am pretty sure that it started showing signs of pythium. I went back to Advanced b/c the ladies were looking a bit ill and I figured I needed to get back to what I know. Also needed to treat with some H202 and you can't do that with the organics.

Now that I have a chiller, I'll be going organics from the get-go on the next cycle, especially since I'm sitting on $200 worth of nutes.

it doesnt matter ill get hell for it but ill say it anyways AN is better whoever tells u diff didnt use it good luck buddy


ps. yes 1300 ppm unless ur like 7 weeks flower sounds to high to me, remmeber now they have built up nutes and are burnt, be EASY on them for a few weeks, ADVANCED NUTES IS VERY UNFORGIVING I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, its not for beginners and you can and will seriously fuck your shit up if your not careful, ive beengrowing for almsot 10 years now and i started using AN this year, never had a problem before this used em, bad burn....it takes time to dial it in AN is not for rookies man just be careful

From the looks of it , its deficiency not burn.

Im thinking PH straying up and down with temperature causing deficiency and a number of other problems.

My guess is water being to acidic , blocking magnesium uptake in the plant , but it could also be related to zinc deficiency.

I wouldn't attempt to adjust it by adding more nutrients <.< 1300ppm is quite high for their age and size.

What strain are you growing?

Can you give us some PH info? - If its bin straying down below 5.7 for some time its not unreasonable to suspect Mg deficiency and other nutrient balance problems.

Give it a fresh flush

PH was hitting lower 7's in 1 days time for a week or so, was having to use crazy amounts of pH down to keep it right. I've had the chiller on it with fresh water every 5 days and fresh nutes as well for about 2 weeks now, and the problem is still spreading. I've got the nutes at 800 now, consistently but the problem keeps spreading and I'm worried. I'll look up zinc def and see if it matches up. It could also be Mag def since I'm using RO water and no Mag supplement.

Do you think its safe to use Botanicare Cal/Mag with the AN nutes? I don't want to fuck anything up!

After reading a bit more I think the best thing for me to do is flush the rez with Clearex for a day or two, give the plants time to unlock themselves (since nute lockout is most likely the problem b/c the pH was jumping around so much). I'll start the flush tomorrow and update this thread to let anyone who's interested know how it went down.
