Aerogarden presetup confirmation

I am getting close to starting my aerogarden grow with feminized white widow seeds and I want to be completely sure I have things in place. So I got the aerogarden pro 200 and I am going to put that in my closet. I am going to line the closet with mylar. I think I am going to put the aerogarden on 24/7 cycle and then plug a timer in. So Timer then surge protector then plug aerogarden and various extra cfls i am going to use for veg state. I want to do 20/4 for lighting and pump. A few questions: If i plug the timer into the aerogarden is it bad if the pump goes off for 4 hours and then when i get to 12/12 is the pump suppose to be off for 12 hours? Also, Do I need to use any special water or can I use filtered tap? Next after germinating in sponge, and it grows a little add some nutes ( which i need to get from head shop or online). Finally for flowering still use aerogarden lights but add a 150HPS light. Please help me out cause i want it to be perfect.
