Aeroponics for da first time!

Hey everyone! I really wanna try aeroponics. But the problem is i don't know how. Is there anywhere that I can find out how to start? Whether it be videos or notes or anything. Is it true that you get maximum yield? And is it also true that once you've done aeroponics you'll never go back to soil? If anyone could please help that would be great! Thanx peepz...

the best way to resaerch anything and learn about it is GOOGLE.....read alot on here froim peioples problems and grows and read alot before u spend your money buying a system or building one....i do areoponics and i like it i use to use drip...and i might go back to it....but it is better than soil and fatster....but other people might disagree.....gl man

Thanx alot Luie! I'm just getting sick of soil, not that I dislike it or anything, I just want something a little easier. I've also been reading that the plants grow more consistently with aeroponics, and the final product is a lot better and more.

what type of system r u looking for? how many sites...as in how many plants are your going to use.....are you going to grow full plants u might need a big system with the sites not too close together......also makeing a homeade one could save a ton of money.....alot of people put diagrams and so on on what to do to build one on here.....i bought mine simple and easy.....but you might want to read about nutrients too......the more exspensive the better i say....but everones diffrent......anything else u need let me know...

i threw in a 2 pics of hlf my system......pics came out bad cause of the light was on sorry....oh ya and another thing is invest in a chiller and dont rin your pumps 24/7 its heats your rez too much and slow growth down...

My advice is to give your plants space. I have mine 14 inches apart and I wish I would have went 18.

thats the truth......i wish i did the same.....i have to trim all the lower leaves off so i dont get all the bunchy shit on the bottom....

Hey Luie...I've been researching and have only found two different ways to do it. One is with the rubbermaid bucket, and one is with the PVC pipe. I really like that pvc pipe one. It kind of looks like yours. I wanna build one myself but haven't really found a good source to learn from. I've been on youtube but theres only a few vids and they dont explain much. There's gonna be 6 lights for flowering and I would like to fit 12 plants under one light, but that's only possible with that bucket system. How many plants do u have under one light using your system?

Another thing I dont know about aeroponics is...how often do u feed your plants nutrients and how often do u flush? What's the time span for the pump to cycle? And would u have a nutrient guide that u could show me or know where I could get one? Sorry for so many questions Luie. i appreciate very much what you've done for me so far. Once I get things up and running I'll post some pics. If you have some time available...get back to me.

you didn't ask me but here is my 2 cents. I got this info off of this site. I'd link you but I cant find it. Here is what I wrote down.

Botanicare Nutes

Veg formula

126 ml Cal-Mag
180 ml liquid karma
540 ml Pure blend Grow

mix into 1 gallon of water and pour a little at a time until desired PPM is reached.

1500 PPM to start. 2000 by week 2. 5.8 ph

Flower

126 ml Cal-Mag
150 ml Sweet
180 ml Liquid Karma
540 ml Pure blend Bloom

2000 PPM until flush


2 weeks before harvest drain reservoir. Fill with only water. Run for 1 hour continuously. change water. add 150 ml Clear-ex. Run continuouslyl for 24 hours. Change water. Run normal (1 min on 5 min off) for 2 weeks. Check PPM. If it changes by 50ppm then change reservoir.

Like i said I'm using this and my plants are exploding. Good luck

wow that sounds complicated too much for just growing weed
and to the Op i did aeroponics my first try and im doing it now too and the quality is amazing and really easy just checking the ph is pretty much all u gotta worry about and general hydroponics nutes will do just fine u just add the recommended nutes to the water every time u refill the reservoir up not hard at all

try to googlr plans.....i bought my system it cost me likw 900 bucks i cant build anything....but u can build one bro....just do a little more searching....as for a nute scheduale just google the nutes u r useing and ull get a chart for it....

ok here is a pic of my first grow which was like 2 months ago and it doesn't look as good as others it was still the best shit i had ever smoked trust me quality was outta this world and it was only 2 plants btw of Super Lemon haze

were the budz airy? or is it just the angle of the pic? u grow bigin those pvc tubes? i lolipop......ill show ya a mini plant that never grew but its budding great,i dont know what happened to it but i like it....maybee cause im cooked right now....the others are my babies that have been in about 2 months.....im doing blueberry and i have noticed bluberry likes low ppms so i flushed and lowered the ppms drastically and they freaked out...

the second pic i didnt lolipop i just let them grow, bad idea for my setup....i like big main colas not the little fuckers on the bottom.....but anyway im cooked so ill stop typing now....:wall:

So basically we just give them nutes all the way through until the last two weeks? Shouldn't they be given just water any other time at all? What would be the normal cycle that my pump should run at majority of the time? 1 min on 5 min off?

Damn...that's one nice setup bro! It looks like u know what your doingz. I cant believe the difference in size in just a few weeks. I'm ecstatic about doing this, but I'm gonna need your help along the way, hope u don't mind me asking a lot of questions until my first few crops go smooth.

In your system...what happens if the roots touch the bottom. Is that ok? Will they just bunch up? Hope to hear from u soon. Thanx alot Robmar. Peace outz...

Hey ent931. Do feed your plants water at all during vegging and flowering? Or just straight nutes till the last 2 weeks like RobMar does?

Ask all you want. I'll answer if I can. As far as the roots. They will just follow the flow of the water. I've been told it is ok to cut them. I dont know that I will. They should just flow to the reservoir.

I use reverse osmosis to purify my water. I have to cause my tap water is so bad its already at 700ppm right out of the tap. My purified water is around 28. The first week I start at 500 and slowly bring it up to 1500 by the end of the first week. I only veg for 1 week. After week 1 I change my reservoir and start my bloom feeding schedule. Start at 1500 and raise it to 2000 by end of week 2. I'll hold it there unto the last 2 weeks. then I'll do the flush schedule I listed earlier. I use a recycle timer. Water on for 1 min and off for 5 min.

I'm new to this too so if you hear any tips please share. I have a buddy who has been doing this for a year now. Most of my info comes from him.
