node spacing 1.jpgnode spacing 2.jpg

My first grow my girls, hopefully, are on their 4-5th node now about 4wks old (3wks 6 days) and are only about 3'' tall
i did crush the stems (my attempt at super cropping) the inner leafs seem to be slowly growing out but mostly just from the main stem
i just recently moved them to the 600mh basically 6-8in above them (not sure specific but very close, no burning, they were a bit droopy this morning but i think that was underwatering my choice cause i thought they needed to dry out a bit and were super light before i watered them)

Does this seem normal?? I'm wanting to flower when they show their preflowers, hopefully only ~2 more wks, but i don't just want an eighth from them lol

You tried to supercrop the main stem when it's that small? You probably stunted the plant.

It doesn't matter if its indica like the guy above assumes.
That plant seems to be either an extremely slow grower or something messed up in that seed, it happens.

I would back that light away some. A lot of light and the light being as close as possible can be a good thing for some, bad thing for others.
If you want your plant short, compact, and bushy (Like yours is now) that would be perfect, especially if you have a small pot/little grow space, then you can keep the light as close as possible.
If you want a plant with good light penetration and good/normal node spacing (About a half inch to an inch apart from each node) then you want your lights at least 1 foot away, 2 is you're using 1000Watts in a small area.

I'm currently growing 7 plants, all mostly indica from what it appears so far. They started slow, and gained super fast growth at week 3. They are about the same size as yours but mine are 1 week younger and the branches at each node are more progressed.

You're not very bright and your noobness is showing lol.

Indica plants grow shorter (less space between internodes) or squater than sativas.

So is your noobness.

Indicas do go short and bushy, but his is not where it should be.
I could show you hundreds of indicas that aren't that short at 4 weeks, and don't have that short of spacing.
He has a 600W 6 inches from the tops of them and is wondering why they are unusually short, and that is why.
Plants need light at a good distance, but not too far where it doesn't get enough, and not too close like now, where it produces diminishing returns.
Plants want to stretch towards the light, a foot between the light and them lets them stretch. You can toy around with how far the light is from the plant and see results. Obviously you don't want them to stretch too much, just enough to where they aren't so small that the nodes are so extremely close together that it actually produces less of a yield because of light penetration being a problem. Some people would argue to use defoliation technique in a situation like that, but I would personally recommend to avoid that.

4 Weeks, 6 Inches, and look at his node spacing, it isn't consistent.

Pull the lights back a bit, and if you want, top them at the 2 true node. This will increase your yield by producing 4 main tops, instead of the normal 1.
This will also make your plant increase in height faster, as it starts to grow the lower nodes. Trust me, 7 days after you top, your plant will grow more than it did in those last 4 weeks.
I topped all my plants, I haven't updated my journal with today pictures, but they all grew 1 inch 30 hours after being topped, and are showing new and improved growth.
Keep in mind 3 are 1 week older than the other 3 as well.

3 inch is small the inter node spacing looks average not tight
at 4 weeks they should be taller at least 7-8 inch
could be many reasons why its so small including genetics

3 weeks hybrids mostly indica

3 weeks indica

smallest at 3 weeks is 6 inch largest is 1ft

the nodes are pretty even spaced, though small i realize that but definitely even spacing, theres a little stretch which all have the same space is one night i forgot to lower the light
I burnt them when they were young but still were quick growers then kinda slowed down
I am starting from seeds if that wasn't obvious just throwing that out there
My flowering room has like 4-5' height maybe a little more too so its not a tiny space
In regards to the super cropping they all sprang up within the day or next day so i'm pretty sure it didn't effect them that much
Skunk wouldn't you say yours are taller because hydro? at least thats what it looks like
Honestly i just wana know my plants are fine just maybe a bit stunted haha
they've got some roots poking out of 2 gallon smart pots nice and white so i feel like they're fine just little midgets haha

I don't think he's being sarcastic, he's saying that OP has a problem, because his plants are the same age and much larger to be sure.
And don't worry OP, mine is at almost 4 weeks as well, and is about the same size, she's just as badly stunted. Had I superthrive incident that left her a little behind in size. Just give yours time, and some more vegging and you'll be fine. As cannabisisfree said, just raise the light a little for a bit more stretch, but remember that ou8 is also right in that, as an indica, the node spacing is meant to be semi-tight and compact.

Also remembered that everyone has their way of doing three things, and arguments are common. Just find what works for YOU and what makes YOU happy.

Awesome thank you, raised the lights its about a little over a foot now we shall see!
Sounds good bro, only trying to help.

Read up on this: https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/151706-uncle-bens-topping-technique-get.html

Since your plant is at the 5th node, it would be the perfect time to use his topping technique.
It won't stress your plants, it won't make it more difficult to grow, nothing will change, just he yield and the structure of the plant.
Normally I do the topping when it has a 3rd true node, and my plant bounces back stronger in 24 hours. Now that you have a 5th node, it will probably bounce back just as fast. You normally want some more growth so when you do chop it off, the plant already has stable root system and wont have as much downtime as someone who does it earlier.
