i need help please - ive been doing a little research and i think my problem is ph and nitrogen related - maybe some overwatering - they are about 2 weeks old

my leaves are very light green - some of the lower ones are curling and have brown/black spots on them - they look pretty sick

I started them in miracle grow (i know) and just changed them to bigger pots and some new soil two days ago. im ph ing the water and have just started a high nitrogen fert (its also miracle grow 24-8-16 if anyone has any comments on that) - i have only watered them once since i changed the soil.

i dont know if there was a lockout from the ph levels earlier or what but they arent really getting better yet. do i need to flush them out and then start feeding them? or should i do something else - i dont know - im worried

Sounds like you did over-water, spots, yellowing, blah . . . best let it dry. Do you need a water/moisture meter?
Whatever fert you go with, start at half strength at most.

I have no problems w/MG. Recently came across a fert I cut my indoor teeth on in the 70's. It's good stuff, IMO. Maybe $6 . . . Schultz Plant Food + . . . the plus is new to me, trace minerals and such, I think. It's a liquid w/a dropper. Works well, or sure did back then! This is a product I can actually recommend. Widely available. Got mine at True value. Saw it on Walgreens site?
Grew a lot of Columbian Red/Gold using it.

ok thanks for the help - this is about what they look like - if you combine these two pics and add some drooping and unhappiness

correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure the top pic is a leaf fungus. do a search for info on fungus to ensure i am correct

the bottom is a nitrogen def. probably from lockout caused by incorrect ph

the drooping is probably from overwatering. let the soil dry out completely before you re-water. dont let the soil stay dry for too long either. that too will cause drooping

the top one is ph related - and yea the bottom one is a nitrogen def - so ive probably just been watering them with too much with an incorrect ph and causing a nute lockup? is that probably the whats up?
by the way-to everyone that looks at this, thanks for the help - you guys are great and i appreciate it

also the lower leaves on some are pretty bad-like crunchy almost- but the new ones look really good now - will the old ones come back to life or should i trim them off? or does it not matter really? i mean right now they are drooping badly and have some dark brown in them.

thanks guys

Mg soil isnt bad if your using that by itself to be honest, its when you try to add Mg ferts to the mix that your plants start to scream from bein burned so bad. If your gonna fert them, you need to flush out your root system first to get all the salty buildup from the MG soil outta there. but even after you do that, i wouldnt use MG nutes, its like usin a turbine jet engine for a chevette. Your overloading them, and they cant take it. Go get some organics for your plant. even if you cant get FF nutes, you can still go to lowes or home depots gardening section...they have some decent nutrients there that arent Mg, and you can pick up some worm castings, vermiculite, and even perlite up there to mix in with your regular soil.

good luck in fixin the problem man, i hope it works out for you ok..
