sorry i'v had a quick look round with search and on google but i cant find a specific answer. i'm planning on building a closet grow using a 125w envirolight so heat wont be too much an issue but im not sure what to do to supply constant fresh air to my plants. ill probs have 2-3 plants in there by the way.

obviously ill need an intake and out take with a carbon filter.

1- intake
where does the fresh air need to come from? can this be from my bedroom or does it have to be from outside?

2 - out take
after the air has been through my carbon filter can it be exhausted into my bedroom since it wont smell?

thanks

Only using that one 125watt envirolight you are correct, you wont have much issues with heat, but definately you want to keep that air circulating. Depending on how sealed your closet is you probably dont have to give it an intake fan, just the exhaust running into the filter.

If you are a smoker or light alot of candles and the air quality is poor in your room then you might need to duct air in from outside, but other than that you should be fine.

Just keep that gigantic CFL as close as possible without burning to keep stretching to a minimum. You might also want to consider hanging 4 smaller CFL's around it as well for a bit of extra penetration. You might want to also consider using a small HPS instead of the envirolight as the penetration is MUCH better using HID. If you want smallish buds, and popcorns then stay with the CFL, but if you want shorter, denser, and much higher yield, try and find a small HPS somewhere. I got 150watt HPS floodlights for $35 each at a local surplus place...you can see them in action in my latest grow journal :)

what a joke. dont listen to this guys comments about small buds. Everyone wants to criticize another persons grow instead of just answering the questions. First and foremost, massah, try reading these forums and educate yourself about cfls before you talk about them.

Your air supply needs to be cooler than the temps you want to create. If it stays cool in your room then take the air in from there, thats fine. I suggest you find a way to exhaust the warm air out of the room/closet/immediate area. This will prevent your intake from just sucking the warm air back in. I prefer both the intake and exhaust both be from, and to, the outside. This allows me better control of the ambient temps that are in the room that my grow room is in.

thanks for the replies, has helped me out a bit. i know there aren't any written rules but i was just unsure. the only real way of me drawing cold air in from the outside is the have my window open 24/7 which i don't really fancy doing since the winter months get freezing. my room is quite cool as it is already. i think the best option for me so far would be to draw air in from my room the closet is in and then vent the warmer air out into the room next to mine (through wall) and keep the window open in there slightly.
or i could simply just buy a grow tent an put it in my attic which has quite a draft going round it anyway. would the intake from and out take back into the attic be ok if it has a draft in there?

iv started growing in a pc case which i thought would be a good idea but since i started i'm worried about the space issue when they start flowering (autoflowering btw). if i HAVE to then ill lst them but i heard they dont respond well to it. thats only what i have read though, if anyone could clear that up it would be great. and i wont be able to get a big harvest from a pc anyways.

thanks again.

Disclaimer - I'm a total newb, but I'm wrapping up my first grow (sorry, no progressive pics yet; planning on sharing a journal when done) - here's my sitch: 2'x2'x5' closet in my bedroom (8'x8'x10'); I have 1 315w cfl lightbank with mixed spectrum sitting atop one unknown clone; I have three cheap oscillating fans (8") - bottom on high blowing up, one in middle oscillating medium, one up high on high blowing out - you can stop me there: No Proper Ventilation or adequate circulation- leave my closet cracked with lights on, everything including fans off at lights off - utterly half assed! Here's two weeks into flower and my local mmj coop owners are baffled that my plant looks so clean/healthy and my buds look very nice in quality, BUT leggy and certainly a little loose. I just bought the DR120 pro II because I'm embarrassed every time I read about what I should be doing instead.
