I already have 6 5gallon fabric pots I want to transfer my plants to was curious on the airpots are they that much better or fabric pots just as good I’m having roots poke out bottom now so I know it’s time

Love my air pots. I find I get less salt build up too. I find the fabric pots after they get wet so many times salts build up on the fabric.
I find airpots dry out a little quicker too adding the oxygen content in the medium.
Roots don't poke out either due to air pruning. More so than fabric.
When watering water slighly slower that normal and you'll never have a problem. People on YouTube show water pissing out the holes. Easily avoided just water slightly slower and don't flood. However you shouldn't flood fabric pots as the water does the same thing. Flows over the top down the sides and out rather than soaking in to the medium.
You can buy copies of airpots at a fraction of the cost. Work just as well.

Roots poking out doesn't mean you need to transplant , roots just do that.

I prefer the hard plastic to the soft fabric.......they don't have to be lifted off the floor like fabric........they're easier to move around.....and it's easier to transplant.
I would recommend the original air pots over the knock offs.......the original doesn't have holes in the top few rows to make it easier to water.
I start in 1 ltr. and transplant to 2.4 gal. airpots.

Okay so I’m around day 28 or 29 from seed thier in these size pots below next size up would be my 5gallon fabric but airpots are way to go I’m hearing looks like I will order them today had other people tell me once roots poke out bottom it’s slowing my vertical growth?

Yes......but I grow in coco.......soil may require a larger air pot.

I do coco 30% perlite in 5gal pots. Big enough for me. With a 1 gal pot in-between.

i tried fabric pots this round and fucking hate them. Every time i water, about a 1/4 of it just runs out the sides.

I’ve spent so much money on this endeavor but figure I’m in it for long haul take as an investment and I’ve always kinda went overboard with everything I do which is good and bad I agree with price I was like fuck but from what I gather they lost good amount of time I’m not going to be throwing them around etc keep good care thanks for everyone’s input +1 to everyone how do u even give points anyway?

I'm using 2 Airpots at the moment, one indoors and one outdoors.
Indoor 26l airpot needs hand watered, very slowly every other day while ordinary pots need water every 4 days.
Water pishes out the holes if you water too fast.
I made a diy airpot with a load of holes around the centre of the pot and it seems better.
Drip tray fills with water.
Outdoor 19l airpot is ok as it's always wet from all the rain we get lol
Guess I'm just lazy

Are you using actual airport brand or knock off the originals don’t leak out top no matter how fast water those are knock offs from my understanding

I use hydro halos to water my plants in air pots, and I can water as fast as I can pour without it coming out the top or the sides.

Roots are directed to calcium and moisture by the micro root hairs. So they will find their way to poke out of a hole naturally .
See a lot of people think they need to pot up or are root bound because a root poked out the bottom but that's nonsense.
However clearly your plants are overdue potting up.
Ive never had a problem with fabric pots, just water slowly and everything's fine but I can see the attraction to airpots apart from the price.
I have plastic pot until final pot so I drill holes every inch on the bottom 1/3-1/2 of the pot, it does the same thing, air prunes.

I used smaller airpots a few years back, the brand name ones and tbh I wasn't really all that impressed. For one thing they are expensive.
I've been using fabric pots the last few grows and they work just fine for me (growing in coco). I bought a tarp grommet repair kit (like $5) and punched holes all around my fabric pots so there's lots of places and it's easy to tie down as I train. Not that airpots were hard to tie down but I dunno their rigidity I just don't like.
