I was thinking maybe a cap full of bleach per gallon of water or maybe some hydrogenperoxide or maybe they sell some thing im sure they must what do farmers use any way i just dont know but most importantly it cant hurt the girls. thanks guys.

theres a few anti algea formulas out there. if there is algea its probly growing on the areas the plants grow from on the medium and washes into the rest of the system. get toppers for your pots. you could make some out of tin foil but it might make hot spots, ive seen it work fine. or you could try to buy some covers, or use cardbored. 2 half circles with a little notch cut out of the middle of each at the flat edge, so the plant will have space.

the whole idea is to cut off the light to the medium were it grows.

You don't have any clear plastic or white plastic in your setup do you? As in a resevoir level indicator that isn't covered 24/7.

I mean aside from the light growing algae on top of the hydroton.
