...All Things Vero...

Would you consider buying a VERO after reading through some of the posts?

Here's a little thread for those who want to know more about the BridgeLUX VERO series.

There is scattered pieces of work (excel spreadsheets, etc.) strewn about throughout various threads but that's not ideal for the majority; I demand organization, especially when juggling everything else going on in life!

So here is to a thread dedicated to the VERO!

(Dedicated also to SupraSPL for providing the template and the knowledge in order for us all to make reasonable choices between choosing different COBs.)

I had a little free time on my hands today. Decided to make use of some newly updated data and cranked out a few excel spreadsheets! O yahhh.

In case you were wondering about the VERO 13... take a lookie look .

(Updated with more accurate LER values)

I'll have a few more sheets uploaded later today. They will encompass the VERO 10 model.

when you look at page 8 of the data sheets you have downloaded, look at this table-

Table 5: Electrical Characteristics and Driver Selection Voltages

does it list several currents, or just the nominal and max?

I'm going straight off of DigiKey data sheets, updated 8/27/14 for the V13. That's as current as I can find.

For my data, I went off of table three, page seven.

...Bridgelux Vero 13 Array Series Product Data Sheet DS31 (4/21/2014)...

....Bridgelux Vero 13 Array Series Product Data Sheet DS31 REV D (8/27/2014)...

...9-12?... new revision?... where?...
He's mistaken the data for a different model for the V13 data, most likely the V18 or V29.

My guess is that they started evaluating with the V10 around mid-August and took their time with each model.

I need options for driving V29 for three sized cabs:
One small: 90h - 60w - 50d - 1100mA - 38V - 40W 1100mA CC Driver
One medium: 120h - 80w - 40d - 1400-1500mA - 38V - Maybe this 1.5A 60W
One little larger: 150h - 100w - 45d - 1700mA - 42V - HLG-80-42

Minus for V29 is, that if i drive them low, they are not more efficient, like CXA which goes up to 48% efficiency running low current.

Maybe some have some opiinons and tips?

I would use the v18 on the small and medium at 1050ma and 1400ma respectively. I think driving the vero 29 in the larger room at 1.7 up to 2.1 is a good strategy personally.
Your larger room sounds a little like mine, which, in my opinion, is small lol. Converting your centimeters to inches and then feet, your large room is like 5' tall x 3' wide x 1.7' thick.

I've heard from Churchy that the VERO 29 tends to burn things at high amps (1700mA and higher) in close quarters. With less than five feet of total clearance for a plant, with or without scrogging, you run the risk of bleaching/burning your canopy later in the final stages. I'd consider V18's for the medium and large cab, while running V13's in the smaller.

The efficiencies along the VERO seem to share the same ranges between the models and makes. I'll depict this in later demonstrations.

Are you using each cab for vegetation through flowering or small/medium for vegetation and the larger for flowering?
