Alternating nodes but no preflower yet?

Is this possible? I have checked all over them and still do not see preflower. I see the preflower bulbs but no hairs yet. I do not want to switch the light till I see all of the preflower. A few are already getting alternating nodes.( main stem) but can't seem to find preflower hairs. Am I just not looking hard enough?

yah, even though alternating nodes are a sign that the plant is getting ready to reach sexual maturity, it doesn't mean it's sexual mature quite yet, but getting rather close..
you can either switch the lights now or what another week or two as i usually find that once you get alternating nodes, preflowers aren't usually too far behind, usually a week or two, but some can take longer..

Thanks I was gonna wait 2 more weeks anyway as they are not quite tall enough yet. Plus I still have to get the flowering bulbs

what type of bulbs are you planning on using for flowering maine? what are you using now for veg??
i just switched over to mh's for flowering this grow after doing a bunch of reading on them.. i wish i had a magnetic ballast where i could use a conversion cmh bulb as i've heard that they are way bomb, but i'm going to be ordering the sunpulse mh's in the correct k range for my entire next grow from veg to flower, different k bulbs for each phase of course..

Just got the minimum right now. 2 4 ft T 12 shop lights that hold 2 6500 k daylight bulbs each so 4 total. Got to get one more fixture to complete veg. So when I'm ready to flower I will switch all the tubes to warm tubes I believe 3000 k. Only went this route be use money was tight. Next grow I will use a flood light thy has been converted it will hold either a MH or ups 400 AT&T so gonna get 2. 1 for each phase may even use both to flower with. Haven't decided yet.

I'm pretty new at this stuff and just lurk around the hydro store chatting to get a lot of grow tips..but i never know if they're just trying to sell something..
ive been using a t5 full spectrum system for vegging--getting ready for the big change--just bought my first ballast--its digital/switchable.. They said digital runs more efficiently. I think they're more expensive than magnetic ballasts, but conversion bulbs have a shorter life or some other drawback like using more electricity. So i thought switchable was a better idea than conversion bulbs? Just trying to cross-reference. I'll take any help I can get, I'm no expert.
