Am I checking the trichomes wrong?

So I couldn’t afford to buy a proper jewellers loop so I went and brought a cheap microscope and for me to check the trichomes I have to pinch a small piece off and check that one individual very tiny nugget a little back story my white widow is in week 13 of flower leaves have been starting to yellow and I think I’m checking the trichomes wrong should I be checking the whole plant??

Nah. Lets see a pic of the plant as a wholes?
While not really ideal to have to pinch off a nug, if you have to to check trichs, no biggy

Can take some more photos that’s all I got atm

I wouldn't even be looking at the trichs yet.
I assume you have plenty of light and lots of air exchange?

Yes lots of airflow got my carbon filter extracting with a fan blowing air in and a fan inside circulating I also have a 600W hps light on why woudjt you be looking at the trichomes?

Your HPS is causing heat stress. That's my guess to why it looks so burnt u

I was just about to ask the same question airwalker? I checked mine it’s suppose to be gorilla glue white? I have a shit light from amazon and this auto struggled, I took sugar leaf from top flower, half looked milky,,, moved slide over from scope and all looked clear? I think I am on week 6 since I saw small budlets, but it is scronny and I know that, but just want to finish what I started?

Just because they are showing no signs of maturity yet so its not at the time to look at trichs..

I would wait for hairs to orange, recede and bud swell before getting out my microscope.
