Am I doing it right?

So I’ve been growing in soil with out nutrients and I topped once they are 30 inches tall i of course use a liquid nutrient but I’m wondering should I have used a dirt with nutrients along with the chemicals abd during the last week I have seen nitrogen deficiency that I have now corrected

Soil that has nutrients in it usually only has enough to last about a month. Unless it's a special Organic super soil blend that only needs water. But if your talking about normal bagged soil your fine. Just up the N a bit. Pictures are worth a thousand words BTW.
