I am going to be starting soon. Am I missing anything? Details below.
4X4X7H 400W HPS
I have an extension cord ran to it for the pictures, but this weekend I will be wiring a dedicated circuit to it for power.
I will be growing hydroponically out of four bubble buckets, with 2 air pumps pushing four 6" bubblestones. Hydroton for my media, General Hydroponics nutes as well as PH balancer. I have a PH meter, as well as a PPM meter as well a temp/humidity meter hung up inside.
I have made an 8" carbon scrubber which reduces to 6" which I have running on a 6" booster fan from the Depot and activated carbon. I was going to get a vortex fan, but so far after testing this one works and creates a negative pressure inside. I think I might still purchase a vortex fan soon though for when I enter flowering (when the stink kicks in).
The walls I did in duct wrap insulation. Where I live, its cold in the winter and this is a basement which gets around 45-55 F during the winter nights.
It isnt mylar, but it gives good reflection and will keep my babies warm. I will use the light for heat and i'll be using the exhaust fan on a cycle, or by thermostat (will be testing both out once hard wired) to keep an even 70 something temperature. Some preliminary tests i've done have shown it takes a good 25-30 minutes for the room to drop 5-6 degrees, so i'm working on a 30 minute exhaust cycle now give or take. How much of a temperature swing can the plants handle without stressing the hell out of them?
I've been reading for months, and have taken my time with all this. I grew 2 indoor soil grows a few years back which went well and this will be my first hydro attempt so i'm trying to do it right. I ordered some seeds a few months ago for a friend and I, and have a few to choose from. I am only growing four at a time, so I would like to keep them somewhat similar in size so I can get the biggest bang out of my lighting.
Heres what I will be growing:
1 - Nirvana Seeds Wonder Woman Fem
1 - Barneys Farm G13 Haze Fem
2 - Seedsmen White Widow Fem
I'm hoping to start the germination next weekend.
