Americans really wish they elected Mitt Romney instead of Obama

Mitt Romney 2014?

Americans are so down on President Obama at the moment that, if they could do the 2012 election all over again, they'd overwhelmingly back the former Massachusetts governor's bid. That's just one finding in a brutal CNN poll, released Sunday, which shows Romney topping Obama in a re-election rematch by a whopping nine-point margin, 53 percent to 44 percent. That's an even larger spread than CNN found in November, when a survey had Romney winning a redo 49 percent to 45 percent.

Two years ago, Obama won re-election with about 51 percent of the vote.

Of course, the poll should be taken with a grain of salt. While Obama is actually taking on the tough task of leading the nation, Romney is sitting comfortably on the sidelines where he is liable to receive a more favorable reception. Still, the finding comes as foreign and domestic crises have sent Obama's approval rating tumbling back to 40 percent, per Gallup.

Also in the CNN survey, a record-low 46 percent say Obama "shares [their] values," while only 49 percent say he is "sincere in what he says," also a record-low.

Romney is no prize, but he can make a decision and he holds no grudge against America, unlike the first Wookie.

I agree..

BarryO had the help of the IRS to get reelected or he may have lost. That is hard to choke down. I think the Democrats rewrote the play book for politics and it will bite them in the ass soon.

...
And people say things like "i wish i was never born" all the time. This is equivalent to that, IMO.

correction: it will bite ALL of us in the ass, and the wallet, soon.

That's what happens when a system vulnerability is first discovered, then exploited, then (the exploit) revealed to others, then exploited massively... and the original exploiters get pushed out of the way by others using increasingly clever and creative methods to further compromise the system, until it's completely ruined.

The founders knew they should try their best to guard against exactly this type of thing, but they couldn't plan for what was not yet even conceptualized, back then... and they also couldn't ensure that people would remain both educated and vigilant, though they did stress the paramount importance of both.

You could even use the "PEBKAC" thing here, except the keyboard is not a keyboard, in this case. The problem is less the system itself, and more the way it has been (ab)used.

I watch House of Cards eagerly, it scares me that he's a Democrat in it.

If they pull that sorta bullshit, what are the Republicans like?!

You need a centre party, a party of action for all Americans, this Barack Obama OR Mitt Romney thing is a ridiculous argument that you guys keep missing, they're both inept and the lack of choices is scary.

"Could've voted Johnson 2012"

I understand everything you just posted. And I agree, someone needs to go to jail so the next pub or Dem will have an example of what not to do.

Johnson got a few votes, Maybe he will get more the next time around. We ended up with a poser mouth piece. I have often thought that Axlerod was running the country and BarryO was and still is a mouth piece.

America will keep getting shit until a third party gets strong enough to win seats in Congress.

Ross Perot really fucked this country when he got pissed off and quit in 1992. I don't think he would have won, he could have, and if the same thing happened today I think it could succeed.

What happened afterwards is the Democrats and Republicans worked together for the only time since then to make it harder for anyone but them to get elected.

I can't recall the specifics, and don't care to look it up or debate the issue, but after the Perot scare it got significantly more difficult to get on a ballot as a third party.

That, of course, is the intended effect of dismantling "citizens united": to make the incumbent politician invincible.

We keep forgetting that if you take away the technological bullshit we are still the apes from the past.

Nothing has changed....
