Amnesia Haze

Hey guys, planning to start a new grow. Just ordered my feminized Amnesia Haze seeds from Seedsman. It is photoperiod Growth.

A newbie indoor grower here with a (75cm x 75cm x 110cm) DIY wardrobe grow box, with 2 fans and 2 ventilations for air intake and exhaust.
I am only planning to grow 1 huge plant.
Would love to get some advice from the veterans.

I will be growing with General Hydroponics Flora series with Calimagic, and following the feeding schedule they provided.
Will be purchasing a new light, the Hipargero 800W. (Please advice on height to hang lights from plants.)
Using a 28.5cm diameter x 29cm height pot.
Will be grown in a coco coir (70%) x perlite (30%) medium.
Nutrients will be pH-ed to 5.8-6.1.

If anyone could advice if this would be a good setup, any advice would be appreciated.
As well as if anyone has any tips from experience of growing the Amnesia Strain.
And if anyone is currently growing with the Hipargero 800W, please do share if this would be a good grow light to use for this grow.

Well if you want one huge plant then hazes are the way to go. lol Hazes and sativa dominant in general get crazy tall, even when you top them, so make sure you do. Especially in a box that is as short as what you’re using. I have a 6 foot tall tent with a haze in it right now, light as high as it can go and she’s already about 3” away from it so I have to tie her down.

Can’t comment on the light, I’ve never used LEDs. As for nutes, just follow the schedule given, like you said.

Yes I plan to top and LST from the get go. I also heard that it's a good tip to start growing Amnesia Haze with a 12/12 hour time schedule? Not so sure on that tip.

Must be lookin beautiful. Would love some pics of it if you don't mind. For future references when I start my grow.

Any suggestions on lights you'd recommend for my grow setup?

Also, does growing sativa differs from growing indica in any way?

Good to hear somwone trying to research before taking the plunge, don't grow 12/12 from seed. This starts the plant straight in flower mode.
You will get only a small yeild and could have a weak stretched plant.
Also your planning to use too much perlite, the plant (when young) will struggle to grow through it, imho you should use no more than 40% perlite and 60% coco.

They always over do it on the bottle and in most cases you shoukd jot need to use as much as they advertise, start your seedlings on a 1/4 strengh and then slowly bump up the feeds until your plant shows you she has had enough and then take it down a tiny bit to find what she likes.

Sativa and indica strains grow very differently, a sativa will take longer to finish and will be much taller, a indica stays smaller and finishes quickly. But to be honest most now are hybrids and it is very hard to find a true sativa.

I cant say that i have heard of your light but mars hydro is a good and cheap way to go for beginners.

As said its great that ypu are doing your research, but there will be many blanks with the info you get here because people mostly do not go in depth about egsactly what to do and when to do it... most specialize in fixing the problem whwn it appears rather than explaining the process to stop it happening.

A good stepping stone in your journey could be the website: growweedeasy , they explain everything and give you tips to get you started :bigjoint:

Many people have had great results with ammo but i always have problems with it, loonnnggg flowering times, bad genetics, stretching... so i gave up with the strain in the end, good luck with your grow, if you need any more help, we are always here !

Definitely man, I believe the best way to learn is from mistakes, but prevention is also a important part. Yes, I was mistaken, that advice was for autos.

I plan to go 70% coco coir x 30% perlite. How much perlite do you recommend if I were to use a (75cm x 75cm x 110cm) pail for the pot?
Also is it recommended to start the seedling in a small pot, then transfer it to a bigger pot or just plant it directly into the big pot?

Noted on that. I shall post the nutes I want to use for the grow. Would be a great help if I could get advice on building a proper feeding schedule for the girls.

I heard the Amnesia Haze is a 80% Sativa 20% Indica, is that correct?

Sadly there aren’t any authentic Mars Hydro sold from where I’m at. Only one I found is a China replica for dirt cheap NEW.
I’m still pretty confused on light spectrums and everything else relating to the lights. Like the parts about true power volts and wattage.
It messes me up, no matter how much I try to understand it.

I see, well your advice is plentiful appreciated. This is the first community I joined since I started my growing. Will check out the site recommended!

That must have been painful to go through, I’m sorry. Are you currently growing any strains?

That's only really a 240w lamp, I refuse to buy lamps from manufacturers that falsely inflate their wattage.
I grew an Amnesia auto last month in 70% coco +30% perlite in a 3 gallon pot, gave me about 1oz of fairly strong bud.
I watered with 1/4 nutes until runoff every day for the entire grow and that worked out just fine.
Lights (Hlg 240w + 2QBs) were on 18/24 for the entire grow.
