ok so i have done exhaustive research and i think i just about know how i want to start out. (i really wanna do aeroponics but i cant justify that expense yet). so this grow is for my personal consumption only, im hoping to get an ounce a month or more hopefully. i think that i can use 6 cfl 23w 6500k monted on a 3 outlet vanity fixture using "y" adapeters for my clone and seedling area. im thinking like 6-8 clones going at a time. this will give me a total of like 10,000 lumens i beleive, is this light overkill?? now ive read that around 500 lumens per sq/ft is good for seeding and cloning. but i wanna just leave the clones there for acouple weeks to "veg". can i accomplish this? clonig and vegging all in the same spot? then ill have a 24" T8 32w 6500k dual floro fixture hanging for two mothers next to my cloning area. that'll be 5400 total lumens (assuming the lights are 1-2" above the canopy) giving me 2700 lumens per sq/ft. ive read that 2500 lumes psf is good for vegging... im supposing that the 2 mothers will take up around 1 sq ft each? i read everywhere that there is no such thing as too much light, maybe too close, but not too much. now in my flowering section i wanna have 4 plants going in square containers each 9x9, adding up to a grow space around 4'x4'. i think they are like 2 1/2 gals each. hanging about 2' overhead will be a 400w hps. this will put aout around 45,000 lumens giveing me around 12,000 lumens per sq/ft. and the 10,000 mark is equivalent to natural sunlight which is what im told is ideal for flowering. now this is what im planning just for lighting and such, the nutes, fans, and mylar and all i will tackle when i get there. ive done some homework and i think i can pull this off for around $300. i plan to do a little LST on the plants, maybe just bend them over a bit. what do you fellas think??? given that all goes well and i raise the girls well should i be able to expect say an oz a month of like white widiw or somehting similar?? this is using soil and vegging to around 8".
