Another cotton candy hermed...

Just for the record,

I was growing a cotton candy plant that I had received from delicious seeds as a freebie, and I didn't really take to heart where everyone else said "cotton candy herms almost every time, poor genetics"...

Well, Here I am with about a quarter pound of seedy Cotton Candy bud... Hmm.

Any of you out there considering this strain, you've been warned..! (again)

Is purple paralysis better for not hemi`ing ? I grew CC from DS before loved it was sad when I lost my clones its stink is unreal and it gives you branches that are covered in buds I guess more spacy plants let you see the balls easier

It sure is lavender x power plant. Not sure about the other strain ya mentioned.

I loved how much bud I got off of it! When I was researching it as I was growing it, I saw countless people saying it herms late flower. Didn't think much of it, but it did just as they said!

Honestly, it smells great and I'm sure the smoke will be great... Just upset that I have to watch for beans in my smoke now. And I'm finding beans in the other plants that were growing along with it :/. Oh well though!

I got a few of these as freebies from herbies and they hermied as well

Purple paralysis is by cream of the crop

It`s the same cross powerplant x lavender I was just wondering if it was more stable and smelled the same because the beans are cheaper too......

Cotton Candy is a real bitch to grow, isn't it? I have three with only three weeks left in flower, but it is extremely difficult to get roots in my cloner, it is never happy no matter how I balance the nutes (so the fan leaves always look sick), but at the end, the buds look great, decent size, and smells wonderful.

That sucks that your girls hermied. Delicious did a great job with Fruity chronic juice, she's been stellar. Minimal effort with a great return.

I took 2 clones, and only 1 rooted after 3 weeks. Crazy! But, you are right about the smell and everything. I am excited to see what the hype is about, smoke wise!

I've ordered a Sugar Black Rose seed from them, hoping it will be good! Honestly, the only bad thing I've heard about Delicious seeds is that the cotton candy herms. Which is confirmed now but other than that people seem to love them.

I have yet to have a problem with Delicious, but I've only run the FCJ, but damn near 18, all have zero problems. Good luck on the SBR.

I just finished this one. It hermied too, but I figured it was just because I let it go so long (84 days). Super easy to grow, really tasty smoke.



I've found about three seeds so far, hope they didn't get too burned up in the pipe.
Mine was a freebie too. Not really worried about the herm issue, if I would have chopped her in a reasonable time it may not have happened.

I grew out DS COTTON CANDY.

Mine went HERMIE in under 4 weeks of 12/12.

Male pods and nanas everywhere.

Still was a pretty nice smoke though.

You're one of the people I remember telling me about it! It took 8 weeks 12/12 for mine to herm, made quite a few seeds in my crop. Assuming they're useless, I've been throwing the seeds away.

The funny thing with mine was that it didn't even pollinate itself.

It pollinated a CARAMELO nearby, found around 20 seeds and an HSO blue dream found a couple of seeds.

Some people keep the seeds and pop them personally I dont.


I'm questioning whether there are some stability issues with DS gear at the minute. The caramelo I had threw out Nanas too. A previous FCJ threw out some nanas.

I had one killer pheno FCJ that was my first ever FCJ bean popped.

Everyone after that was mediocre.

Yeah, that's crazy man. You're definitely experienced enough that it isn't you stressing them and causing the herm. I was bummed when I found seeds in my Nirvana Ice from the CC. One of my most beautiful plants, and now I gotta dig seeds out of it before I smoke lol!

Fingers crossed my SBR from Delicious will end up fine.

I do have to say, my yield was great on this plant. Just weighed in at 4.36oz dry! Only vegged for 5-6 weeks under 200w cfl, and flowered under 600w hps.

Well shit, way to rain on my effin parade! I'm not growing cotton candy, but I am growing some purple paralysis which is the same exact cross ( lavender x power plant) so I will be ultra hella disadamnpointed if mine herms. Thanks for the heads up, it was the plants I'd least expect to herm out of the bunch I have flowering but I'll keep a look out now.

Dang, I grew Ice from royal queen seeds for a few years and they never hermed, check into them, i got 2 different phenos, one sativa dom and one indica dom. The sativa was flowery smelling with huge calyxs and the indica dom was hella dense and skunky, they both were very potent. I'd recommend them if you like the ICE

That sounds good! I love Ice. But the only reason it's seedy is because of the cotton candy spreading it's pollen to it. But, I still may try royal queens version, because the Nirvana version just has me beside myself because it's so great! The only strain I've ever considered keeping for the long run honestly.

I grew out CC and about at 5 weeks had technical issues with my lights and had to move my grow to a different room for about a day. I figured I just threw it out of balance and it hermed on me. Ugh! The Cotton Candy pollinated my Diesel 2 from HSO and also pollinated my Em Dog which I believe hermed too. What a fucking mess. I did get some nice crosses though like the Diesel 2 x CC, was good and didn't herm. The Em Dog x CC I grew out too and it wasn't bad except it hermed slightly getting a few dozen seeds. The good accident is this... I had a THC bomb in there and got a few seeds which are dank. The crosses, from knowing the smell and taste, were THC Bomb x HSO Diesel 2 and THC Bomb x Em Dog. The Diesel x Bomb was done two weeks before the Em Bomb. Nice smoke and stone all the way around. Haven't gotten any herms there. Anyway, good to know it wasn't "all" my fault. Still learning after 8 years.
