Another Funky Leaf Thread (burn or deficiency?)

Hey everyone,

I'm working on my fourth grow right now (Master Kush), and I'm starting to see symptoms that I cannot seem to sort out.

Here are the pics. It was a bit dark, so look hard.

• Growing indoor or outdoors: Indoor
• Watering schedule: This plant gulps it down, so every other day
• Growing Medium: FFOF with some added perlite and a little dolomite lime
• What stage of growth: 5th week of flower
• Lighting: 600W HPS
• Temp and RH: 75-82 at the canopy, 30%

Important notes: I added some Big Bloom and 1/4 strength Tiger Bloom during the second week of flower and noticed immediate signs of burn on the lower leaves. I flushed and backed off giving the plant only tap water while monitoring new growth. The leaves have stopped growing and are starting to show the symptoms above.

The symptoms are a rust color with no obvious patterns. I don't splash water or nutes on the foliage. The buds look good, but the leaves don't.

I always seem to have these symptoms with every grow using FFOF even with little to no nutes.

I was told that FFOF is the ideal PH right out of the box, and that soil is a natural buffer to PH fluctuation and to not worry about it.

Salt burn. More common in potting mixes and soils. Also letting the pot dry too much between waterings contributes to salt burn..

How much lime did you add? Organics is king when it comes to pH control but sometimes bags that sit for a while will go increasingly acidic or are mixed slightly out of proportion resulting in varying pH. She is an Indica so purple petioles is not uncommon however if you have not given her any P since the 2nd week of flower it could very well be a P deficiency. Good luck

Hi Allen, not much at all. As I recall, about 2 Tbsp of lime for a 3 gallon smart pot. Good to know about the purple petioles, I was starting to wonder about possible N issues as well because of those.

2 tbs to 3 gallon is good. 3 gallon huh? That'll make for a nice sized plant. I'd try adding the TB again. I'm surprised you had any kind of reaction with the TB at 1/4 strength especially growing an Indica. Good luck
