Another New Cfl Grow

I've got my first indoor grow going. 1 Pineapple Trainwreck clone, almost ready to go into 12/12, 2 Strawberry Cough from seed, popped soil on 5/7 and 2 from some bagseed (mids) I bought some time ago. Just yesterday received my 5 Northern Lights feminized seeds from Nirvana, won't germinate them for a few weeks at least.

I know I don't have enough light at the moment but I'm using a few 23w (75 equivalent) 6500k CFL's and then switching the PT clone to 12/12 on 2700k 23 watts and keeping the babies under 6500k for another few weeks. I've been on a 24/7 light cycle. It started out as 18/6 but with my schedule and no timer at the moment I had to switch to 24/7.

My box is 48h x36w x36d lined with foil (I'm a cheap ass and it was what I had.)

Soil is a mixture of homemade composted material and MG Garden soil (yeah I know, the purists are rolling their eyes at me)

Nutes: MG All Purpose at about a 1/4 strength for the moment. Plan on some Jack's Classic when I switch to flower. I'll also start feeding the babies Jack's and get away from the MG crap.

I was using one smaller CPU fan for exhaust but switched to a 4" desktop type fan for circulation in there.

Within the next few days I'll be putting the clone on 12/12 for flower for at least 9weeks. I'll be purchasing a timer to stick with the light cycle. The babies are coming out of the main box and going into their own veg box.

looking good bud! but one thing, is that aluminum foil your using to reflect the light? If so I'd look into getting something different. Like Mylar. Aluminum foil reflect for shit! If you dont have much money paint your box a FLAT WHITE in paint.

I'd flower the older ones first and keep the clones growing. Once you find a plant you like keep it in veg mode. That way you keep the same gene's.
Also I'd look into some higher watt cfl's. I got some 100 watt cfl's that are pretty nice.

Thanks for the advice. What's a roll of mylar cost? I had the foil available when I built the box so I used it. I have a list of a few things I have to purchase in the coming days and a few higher watt CFL's are on the list. They didn't have 100 watts in the 6500k last time I bought some where I was. I'll shop around, see what I come up with. Thanks again, much appreciated.

go get space/survival blankets from walmart camping section, your box is small, might cost you 5$ to line the whole thing with mylar

Today I'll be replacing the foil with mylar, re-potting the babies and building a solid door on the cab. I'll be checking for light leaks also. I've got some rooting hormone and will attempt to take a few cuts from the Pineapple Trainwreck for a clone mother........wish me luck will ya!

Ok, so I've gotten a little behind. I still haven't started flowering the PT. I also haven't gotten the dang mylar up in the cab yet. However, I did top the 5 week old seedlings today I built the door on the cab, finally. A cutting was taken from the PT and I "think" it's doing okay, still too early to tell. I noticed the bottom leaves were browning so I clipped them and then decided to trim all the leaf tips. I heard by doing this to clones the plant will concentrate it's energy into new growth instead of leaf production. I don't know, we'll see. Any advice on that? Also, there are a couple of pics of the results of the fimming I did to the PT clone.

When cloning what I normaly do is cut the fan leaves in half. did you use a clone gel?

I used a rooting hormone, is that the same?

Electricity went out for about 3 hours last night. I suppose that's not really a problem at this stage with the lights. However, I was worried as hell about heat in the cab. The ambient air temp outside was high and without fans it can get hot inside the cab. I got home and checked, it wasn't to bad @ 83 degrees. By that time everything was back on, fans were going and I reset the timer to keep everything flowing right. Back to normal this morning.

Pineapple Trainwreck went into flower yesterday..........all else looks good. I'll do some pics in a few days after it gets accustomed to the flip.

Pineapple Trainwreck, 1 week into flower. Today I put the Strawberry Cough into flower as well as the bagseed plants. All looks good but I'm starting to wonder if the PT is going to do anything? How long should it be before it starts to flower?
