how come a 90w LED is compared to a 250 HPS but are only rated at 3000 lumens?

its a confusing thing to figure out. but they compare the amount of red light given out by the LED lights to that of an HPS. a red wavelenght is what plants will primarily use to grow. so they compare the 2 because the led will give out as an example, one and a half times the amount of red light as an HPS. however this is only a small detail when comparing lighting systems, an HPS will still have a deeper light penetration on your plants compared to a 90w led.
