if you suck the moisture from the air you will not be able to put your lights as close and you make it easier to burn leaves...plants like some humidity i like to keep mine around 55-60 percent....ive NEVER had mold

oh but as your buds swell you can bring the humidity down some if you are worried about mold...some ppl flower at like 30 percent and also the last few days its good to make it dry as possible supposedly, people say this increases resin production so i like to use a dehumidifier the last two days with a 48 hour dark period

If the humidity is too low the plants will perspire too much and you'll have to water them more, if its too high they cannot perspire because the air won't hold any more water so they cannot cool themselves. 50-55% is good for veg 40-50% for flowering to prevent mold. If you have central air it usually keeps you from getting too humid.
