If you aren't going to pay attention to what people say why do you bother posting.

I have said repeatedly that I support civil unions that would give legal rights to gay couples. I am only against changing the definition of the word "marriage."

It is entirely possible that a gay person could agree that it is in the best interest of society to preserve the meaning of traditional marriage.
Right, but would he also refuse to support Harvey Milk day? Come ON!

Actually, I can stand with you on this, Rick. I support civil unions for gay people. I also support civil unions for straight people and the derecognition of marriage as a secular act. Surely if you support gay civil unions you share with me the sense that the government should in no way preside or regulate religious rituals such as marriage. If civil union is good enough for gay citizens it ought to be just fine for everyone else.

Who cares what you would think? Not I.

Does he also think it's right to be a married man hanging out in gay bars and driving while intoxicated? Would those be the same staunch principles at play in his legislative cogitations?

He never would have been busted for the DUI if his pickup, um, campanion, wasn't trying to pull his panty hose off causing him to weave on the road!
