Antithesis of Average....can I let AF's go for a lot longer than recomended?

Ok here's the deal. Since I planted really really early in the season, the babies could be fatter than if I had waited. That being said, some are seed runs and some are for personal. My question is this:

If they didn't get a ton of sunlight earlier on coupled with lots of rain, could I let them go for 75-80 days as apposed to the recommended 60?

Do they say 60 because its more appealing to the AF crowd anyways?

Thanks ya'll,

K

Haha, you know guys, you should look up how many posts I have that have either one retarded comment or no replies and a million views...and I'm not even asking stupid questions. This board is so geared for ass kissing of the mega grow people without any help for someone who actually needs it.

I'll be joining another board.

Thanks!

I hear ya man, this board is hit or miss and people hate to hear that you're doing anything with autos, fucking haters.

I have not grown any autos so I can't say for sure but in general you want to harvest your plants when the tricomes are beginning to look hazy to amber. Once you get past having a few amber tricomes the smoke quality will start to degrade. However like steak being rare or well done, it's a matter of personal preference. I think the amount of days the breeder says is more of a round about guideline that depends on light and all those other factors.

Impatience on any board will never get you a faster answer.....but the abovce poster is correct...as with any plant, photo, auto or otherwise...potency is determined by harvest time. Autos ahve a specific built in genetic timer that only ripens by age regardless of light or absense of light ....etc....taking it further than 'ripe' will surely degrade the product. Go by the trics and harvest at your preferred spot and don't monkey around with trying to extend the growing with some ideas of something getting better.

Vapekush and oldreefer,

Thanks for the response on this. I guess the chop will be sooner than later. I'm doing a seed run on some so I'll probably let them go a little longer.

Oldreefer, I really wasn't trying to be impatient with my last post, however, with the consistency that I've had successful Q&A sessions here...I was more just meh'd out by the mediocrity.

On the other hand, I don't think that there is anything wrong with doing regular photoperiod and autos in the same patch. Just means I get more smoke earlier in the season. People can hate all they want. I'm smoking a fat Blueberry auto J right now.:joint::eyesmoke::blsmoke:

Thank you for replying with something other than "right on duuuude, can't wait to see pics" to up your post count.

You guys really let the noobs bug you who post stupid shit? you shouldnt, once you get through all that crap you'll find we do have a decent core of veteran growers who are more than willing to help. i hate to admit it but it often is people saying posting something about no one responding that gets a thread to get noticed and people to help, then again it also turns off some of the people who would of helped, but anyway- That date they give is an approximate time for them to be ready under ideal conditions, i normally go at least a week or 2 longer than they say to. times not what matters it is if they are ready or not. Trichomes and bud swelling are good indicators on this.

Darkdesctruction,

You know, sadly, this is the first thread that I've gotten some decent feedback on. And it took the post above to kickstart it.

That being said, thank you for a response.

I was thinking the same thing, a week or two more, just because I've never done autos before and comparing them with the finished product of my regulars I've done, I'm thinking they need more time. Hence the question.

Thank you for your time on this guys,

K

Oh yeah, while we're on the subject. Do any of you have any yield averages for outdoor autos? I'm not expecting more than a couple O's to chief on, but still, better than nothing.

Thanks,

K
