Hey,
This is my 1st grow and could use some of your great expertise. What would you do if this was your set-up???

I have a closet and I have turned into veg on one side and flower on the other. I have had some heat problems in the flower side (90-100f) with the light on. I bought a 600w dig.bal hps. system. and it is putting off a lot of heat. I have 1 os.fan running 24/7 high when the light is on and low when the lights are off. I also have a box fan sucking the air out, pushing into the room that the closet is in. I know that I'm losing a lot of the light because I have to keep the plastic door open when the lights are on. There is a window about 2-3 feet away that I was thinking to bring air into the closet, I don't know the right way to do this though.

So my big question is how can I turn this are into a great grow room, on a budget? What do I need?
I'm growing in soil now, only two plants. Just to test it out.

The flower side is 3x2x8
The veg. side is 2x2x8

Thx:peace:

If it's too hot, there are a couple of things you can do. Opening the window being one of them... but only if you're sure no light can get in, also that none can get out.

Another is to reposition your exhaust fan, get a tube connecting from it to just next to the light. This way the heat will be better exhausted. If you've already done that, get a bigger exhaust fan.

Another is to use a Co2 set up. this will help your plants thrive better than ever, even in 96f temp's.

Another is to get another fan in there, blowing directly between the bottom of the light and tops of the plants to push the heat away. Although, you should already be doing this.

Well the light is very low and that is where most of the heat is coming from. Try raising it a tad, at least ten inches from tip of growth. Have the fan point and wave cutting through the space above the plants tips. (the space between lights and plant) it's circulation they need, not wind.

And the square fan is NOT for constant use by the way.

Best of luck.

Hey,
I don't have a exhaust fan, I was looking into the squ.fan, or just getting a bathroom exhaust fan.I don't want to get a whole bunch of stuff I don't need. All I have right now is a 12" os.fan and a box fan. The light is 18" from the tip of the plant.

I guess what I'm looking for is the ideal useage for this space. To get the best results, least amount of work and trouble in the long run. To do it right the first time.
So if I should change anything thats fine.
What I would like is to have two plants go in the flower and two come out every two or three weeks and keep on this type of cycle.
So anyone has done this type of cycle and are willing to share will there trail and error what would be great.
I thank everyones help and advise:)
