any one use a 3 in 1 light,soil,and moistiure meters

PEACE. I use the light moisture and pH combo meter for soil and it is a hit or miss to me. I read one thing but the plants tell me something else. I could be overanalyzing the plants though. The light and moisture parts work fine but I just don't trust the pH. I had a few and one didn't work out of the pack (the calibrations were off ) another one worked for a minute and then it seemed to give readings that were way off (calibrations I suppose) and the last one from HYDROFARM is a moisture and pH meter and it works I guess. I rarely use it and i probably should but I stay away from things that I am unsure about. From what I read, the only sure meters are the electronic ones and they are for hydro (which I haven't tried yet.), unless you can find one of the more expensivee meters that the hydro shop guy was tellng me about (but they are $300 a peice
). I say get a soil test kit and use it in conjunction with the hand-held. THat's the best advice I can give besides going into the store for a $300 meter ! One such test kit that tests the nute levels and pH is called Mosser Lee soil test kit.I trust that my limited knowledge helped if even a bit.
PEACEHey Sour, I have that exact one, got it from Lowes for $10. It looked good when I bought it but now I dont use it very much. I agree that the ph feature is iffy at best. I couldnt get it to budge in my soil or the water (gauge stayed all the way to the left, ph8 ) The test kit I got says my water ph is 7. The moisture part is good for soil moisture though. As far as the lights meter...it only goes up to 2000 lumens. Our plants need much more than that and there is no way to tell if you have 2001 lumens or 10000 lumens.
I'm a first time grower but in my opinion its only good for a moisture meter.

i have that meter but I don't use it
it was OK for moisture
never used it for pH. i think it is advertised as a soil pH meter but you have to make a solution out of a soil sample
and the light meter is stupid
