Any reason I shouldn't buy this hood?

I'm in the market for a new hood and I've been looking at this one.

Just wondering if there's maybe one better out there for about the same money.

you could fabricate that from sheet metal and supplies from home depot for about $20.

I prefer the glass "cool tube" inside this fixture to the glass bottom of the one you linked. It's also cheaper

these are the ones i use. I also like the glass tube opposed to the metal with glass bottom.

Light reflectors need to be chosen for your growspace footprint and light wattage. That being said that is a very small reflector and by the looks of it casts a narrow beam, probably good for 400s and under. With a 600 you would ideally want a reflector that is around 24 inches wide at a minimum and for 1000s you should be using either an xxl type hood(30+ inches wide) or a horizontal parabolic.
Besides a co2 generator, light refectors are one of the only ways spending money can and will increase your yield. Just dont be fooled by jorge into thinking adjusta-wings reflectors are the shit.....220 for a fucking wing reflector lol

I think that cool tube straight six is gonna be my best bang for my buck. Man, $52 and free shipping. I'm all about it.

Cool tubes give about the worst foot print out of all reflectors possible. If you're worried about temps, just get an air cooled hood..
I've seen plenty of comparisons of cool tubes vs aircoled hoods, and the cool tubes lose every time, embarrissingly so..

The temp is your yard stick if you cant control it properly then your going to struggle .

hell yeah! htg has the best prices on just about everything. and if somethings too heavy and the shipping throws off your order price, go to there ebay and itll most likely have free shipping.

Saved me over $20 alone when i bought my carbon filter/fan combo that weighed a hell of alot. And occasionally theyll have prices on there ebay acount thatre a few bucks cheaper than there store site.

As for footprint, ive found that my air cooled hoods spread about the same, except for my euro air cooled hood thats super skinny.

I like the cooltubes better because i grow in tents and, although sturdy, when youve already got a carbon filter and fan hangin from your tent id rather have a light glass cooltube than a heavy metal one.

If i was growing room style,with thousand watts id probably go with the metal air cooled ones. Just because they spread light better for 1000watters.

I'm growing 8 plants in about a 4.5' x 2' rectangle in the middle of a 10 x 10 room.
