Any reason not to flower with aeroponics

It seems that most aeroponics around here goes towards seedlings/clones and vegetative plants... I can't imagine their being any disadvantages to flowering this was as well...? Outside of maybe a transplant..

no what are you talking about....flowering is just fine in aeroponics just change lights to 12/12.

yeah filthy, your a pioneer.. I hope to be right there too, but I think soil is more suitable for my first grow.... though time IS an issue... hmmm.. I need to make up my mind quick here

aero is easier if you learn the very basics and clean up is a snap and you can use less room those always factor in for me.Soil is so hard to control and correct issues

I grew my own aero setup.. works awsome.. i followed flithy's directions.

check it out. i will be using this for veg/clone and flowering..

Damn, well that goes to contradict what I thought I knew about soil... You guys really think I should abandon my soil scheme? I'm considering aero for seedlings and somewhat into vegging, but I dont know about for flowering... thing is, I'm planning to do a SoG in soil in a 2.5' x 5' x 7' space... seems like soil would be most practical as I'd be able to maneuver things more easily as well as utilize rez space for additional plants...

also, the idea of rez monitoring looks challenging, plus the needed additional equipment (TDS meter mainly).. I hear things can change very abruptly in hydro/aero setups compared to soil, and I can't babysit these girls that closely, I dont think...

I do intend to try this next time though.. maybe I'll get together a cloner for now



also, filth, what do you think about ultrasonic transducers? Seems to me like they would output an ideal mist. And what is a nebulizer? Are they the same thing?

i def think aero is easier than soil. im doing a trial bagseed run with filthys 6 site rubbermade aero model. im always so lazy i havent checked ph in like days. havent checked ppm in like a week. plants are still 10x more healthy than my soil ones were and im slackin bigtime. my tub looks like a fucking jungle now and it def seems like if you were to flower in the 6 site setup, lollipopping is a must.

thats just because of how bushy the plants get. theres absolutly no reason you cant flower with aero.

i still think you should pick the one you want to try and go for it. If you want to grow in soil ... do it. If you want to go with aero - don't fuss around with soil - just go for the aero.

assume your first grow will yield nothing and i'll bet you're pleasantly surprised. i did a lot of studying before i got my hands dirty (i guess that would be got my hands wet - but anyway...) if i learned nothing - l learned this: no amount of studying can substitute for experience of growing - and unfortunately the best lessons come from potentially crop destroying mistakes.

The biggest first time mistakes are:

Using higher than 50% nute loads with tapwater.

Starting flower before the 13th node.

Burning the plants too close to the light.

Chopping too early, or too late.

Improper cure.

Here is some aero roots in week 6 of flower.

does anyone have an idea how high above the nutrient solution in the chamber i should have the baskets when i first transplant the girls?
