Any reason why my leaves/bud ARENT purple like in the ad?

Pic is purple ..... lol.

But seriously.... take ALL breeder claims with a grain of salt. Dominate traits may express differently than advertised plus who knows if the genetic lines have been truly refined.

This why many pheno hunt .... plus you can run multiples and cross back the traits you are looking for. Breeder pics mean nothing ..... the ACTUAL parentage ( parent strains ) of cross is more important ( if TRULY they are what they say ) and not just bunk.

Yep agree, false advertising... Plus you may need cooler temps at night to bring out the colors... Aim for a difference of at least 10 degrees F between day and night...

or you know .. run more seeds ? I ran 2 packs of trop cookies f2 ...10/14 females were purple .. 3 were green got to hunt dude.
Yeah, I've got a purple strain, but it only turns a little bit purple and that's with the cooler temps. I never really do that any more though because I don't want mildew and mold creeping in... Not worth the look...

Trop f2 purple'd from the onset like the first calyx at each bud site was dark purple and thats with my room only getting down to 72-72 at lights off with 79 being the normal running temp

If you are truly desiring purple color to develop, lower the temperature (Difference of at least 10F between day and night temperatures.). However lowering the temperature does not grantee the expression of purple, as the strain you purchased may display purple toward the latest stage of flowering (From my experience that is common) . Also agree with the above mention , it can very possibly be fake advertising. If you can control the humidity (45-55 RH) and air circulation effectively in your grow environment lowering the temperatures should not be a great concern, as mildew/mold will struggle to develop.
Hope this helps :bigjoint:

The purple likely came from the Pakistani Chitral Kush they used for that cross. I've grown PCK many times. Sometimes you get a green phenotype. But realistically, the purple does nothing for the weed itself other than look purple. In fact I preferred the green phenotype over the purple. It seemed to have a better taste and smell which is why I decided to use the green on some crosses I'm working on.

And half the stuff in the descriptions is 100% crap. They can say anything they want and do. I put some of these seed companies in the same category of used car salesmen.

"Exclusively bred by Zamnesia." Who cares? Anyone can chuck pollen and make a purple strain using PCK. I have.

Real purple strains don't need cooler temps. And cooler temps typically just turn the leaves purple not the flowers. Strains like Pakistani Chitral Kush have lots of color and don't need cool temperatures for them to come out. Here is a cross I made of PCK + Durban. Lots of colors and not grown in cool temps. I've stopped working this cross and am focusing on the same cross just with a green PCK pheno.

Nice @xtsho. Very Picturesque plant. You say you preferred the green phenos smoke to this purple one? I wonder, does "purple" impart any taste(stoner thought). I saw a thread here somewhere asking a similar question.Forgot to click into it as I was already set to click another thread.
I'm sure there are those that would still grab this pack over the green even if you said the green pheno cross is better.I know you don't sell seeds, but hypothetically speaking,if you were breeding to vend, which cross would you say sold more packs.
I'd say the purp pack because people are easily eyeball test influenced.

Spot on about the true purple genetics not needing cooler temps.Which only turn the leaves.Purple bracts or flowers from the onset are what I was looking for when I was looking for some "Purp".

What is your opinion on purple potentcy. This, I think comes down to the genetics, not the color.I'll admit I have no idea. Not enough data points collected on my behalf.

I don't think purple adds anything to the potency. And from my experience strains that can have both a purple and green pheno I've always preferred the green. Purple looks neat which is why people want it and yes, most people would go for the purple even if the green was more potent. I think the reason is because their is an aura around purple weed. People think it's cool I guess.

I grew some ACE Seeds Congo. I got both green and purple pheno's. I preferred the green in that case as well. The purple came from the Congo having some PCK in it to reduce the height and make a more compact plant. If you want to make your own purple strain then start with PCK.

Here is a Congo I grew. Out of three only one was purple. That PCK decided to come out with this one. I thought the green were better. Notice the leaves are still green and yellowing but the flower has color? Anyone can turn leaves purple with cooler temps but a real colorful strain will just grow that way. bongsmilie

Beautiful though! I did not know that about PCK, I may have to give that a try! I should also add I'm not saying anything bad about zamnesia - It's just the strain I'm talking about, Ayahusca Purple has the name purple right there in the name, and it's really not purple much at all lol... But damn it's some good smoke though... I just think they could have named it better.

Also, any strain recommendation for pink pistils? or purple pistils?

True purples usually have a more mild effect than green strains but purples are really good medicine for stomach issues. I've noticed that, generally, they test higher in CBG which could be why but I'm no scientist, I'm only saying this incase someone can provide more insight into that. But anyway from my experience true purples are great medicine for stomach issues. And nice plant in the photo, good work dude.

If you want pink pistils then Mazar I Sharif.

Mazar-i-Sharif

Pink stigmas are common in this strain

Thank you for the tip on PCK. I'll have a look see. Any particular breeder you'd advise for the PCK? Another beautiful plant. Nice.

That Mazar-i-Sharif looks and sounds mighty right. To bad they don't ship to the U.S.

Thanks guys.

Na, that's the lights giving the picture that hue.
That's what he was referring to. How do you expect people to tell how green your plant is when you take the pic under blurple light.

nOObs do that all the time. My plant is sick and looks funny! HELP!!! Then post pics that are all yellow or blurple.

Just sayin'.

:peace:
