Any Recommendations for Lighting?

So I've done some research on lighting for growing, and it seems pretty clear that HID (High Intensity Discharge) lamps are superior for growth, however its pretty hard for me to get some. Desperatley, I went to a Canadian Tire and asked if they had any HID lamps and they just laughed at me lol. I was wondering if there are any lights that are close to the quality of HID lamps and would be easy to obtain? If there are any trustworthy websites I could order specific lamps such as High Pressure Sodium or Metal Halide please share. I haven't fully looked into it but I know what I need, I just need to find out how to obtain it. Thanks.

i'm not familiar with Canada but i am sure there are hydro stores that deliver there. if not then look into greners.com, htgsupply.com, bghydro.com, and a few others. they are all in the U.S. but i am sure they will deliver for a charge.
