any stories of introducing parents to your grow?

alright alright.. I'm older now (21), so my parents don't quite give a fuck about what I do however, they aren't exactly marijuana friendly people. it's never been worth opening up to them about me being a regular all day everyday smoker... literally I was busted at the early age of 15 and they told me to cut that shit out so it's always been a secret. my dad totally knows and is chill he just rathers me keep a tight chain about it so that my mom doesn't know.
why do I want to tell my parents that I enjoy growing marijuana?
so I recently moved back in with them after having my own place for the last few years and I have a stealth grow goin in my large room which is secluded upstairs.. it's cool and all but you have no idea the potential around my house!!

1. I live on an 86 acre farm! 64 acres of fields the other 22 woods.
2. in the upstairs next to my room there is a 12x12x12 room with NOTHING in it.. it will "someday be a beautiful bathroom"(yeah right..)
3. we have a large two room underground basement with nothing except for our masses of harvested potatoes and canned veggies.. it's a dark dark cool well ventilated area.
4. we have a FOUR story barn.. it's the size of our house, shit, maybe larger.. we have a pig pen and a garage..... so much space not being used.
5. we live in the middle of nowhere! this would be the safest area, seriously, i would be sooo much more chill about an op here rather than my previous places.. it's flawless and so many options..

what do you guys think? do you think they'd find it smarter and more reasonable that I am not paying for my bud and that I know exactly where it's coming from and that nobody has gotten hurt over it on the streets?... that's my fantasy.. but of course I have to take into consideration.. that's such a loooong shot..

For me bro I grew and told them it was tomato's they could tell I was playing dumb and eventually made me look the fool by just being like right so why aint we got any tomato's yet? haha. Kind of just let it go luckily enough. Left it for a year. Now I give some money to my parents for the electric to run my 400w and they see some cash out of my crop to pay off there debts its a win win. My mum has even started to take an interest.... I be sitting in my room (grow in cupboard) and she would stick her nose in and be like there doing well... Im just errrr yeah mum... haha.

I still close the spare bedroom door when my mother comes over

probably best to wait till they die and the house/land is yours imo, otherwise they may not want to leave it to you if they think you are going to turn it into a grow op.

The idea of introducing my parents to my grow leaves me uneasy. i'd have to grind them fine and apply in small portions to prevent nute burn to the girls. And how to keep the rest fresh? cn

Oh well.. looks like I will have to wait until I inherit the land.. I've got a new place to my own january 1

Tis how it should be... hopefully times change and it will some day be a good thing to grow and provide for ones self. I once met a man(27yrzold) who had a son(7yrzold) and he claimed that he could teach his son everything he needed to know by teaching him how to grow. aside from the dudes shadyness he was a good father and I've never met a more obedient, smart and respectful 7 year old. maybe he's on to something..

Not to go off topic here.. But djlifeline, have you told that story before? Because i'm almost positive i've read that exact paragraph before..

Quite a statament to make! What does "everything he needs to know" cover?

Some thinking says growing can teach you how to make money.

How to grow other things i.e food, herbs... An interest in plants is always good too. Like saying know one plant well and you pretty much know how all of them work. Teaches you the power of plants!

Teach you how to invest in the future.

Will teach you patience of waiting for the grow.

I never used to be interested in plants, until I smoked pot... Studying it afterwards goes without saying hahah

I think he meant he could link growing metaphorically to the way life works and it would instill values such as patience, responsibility, community, respect for the way things scientifically work.. I could argue on his behalf and against it lol just thought it was interesting. And I'm sure he wasn't only talking about teaching him to grow bud. He tends his herb garden with his son whom's name I believe is "sage" the dudes favorite herb besides cannabis

I introduced my parents to my profession through my first serious arrest. I had a girlfriend who threatend to harm herself to a friend over the phone and that friend called the police, who promptly came over and rushed into our house finding crazy girlfriend and several pounds of weed. they booked me and let me go for the time being. I eventually had to go through the court system and such. Telling my parents kinda was an after thought to the whole situation. I was in my late 20's at that point and they were more concerend for my safty then anything. I had made my life choices and they had to learn to deal with it. they still love me and now i live in a medical state and am completely legal (as far as the state is concernd). My parents even helped me move to persue my chosen profession and made several comments how they were rpod of me taking such a big leap moving 2k miles to persue my dreams.

I guess Id say its kinda like telling your parents your gay. they may or may not like it but they r your parents and they are gonna love you no matter what.

Im just waiting until i move out. Don't want my parents always on eadge becuase i have something ilegal in their house

Always a good idea.

isnt the point of the story though that u do have something illegal in there house. you should respect your parents enough to ask them if u can grow it in there house and if they say no have enough respect to do as they ask as long as you are in there house after all they could get in a lot of shit over it

eh, my parents are pretty cool. They would never have let me grow but my step dad smokes so my mom has to accept I do too.

I decided to tell my mom all about it because she started talking about doing it in her own back yard, ROFL. A neighbor does apparently, and she wants to start too for my step dad... I warned her that it's better to keep it more discreet than that in the state she lives in, and then proceeded to tell her all about my indoor op, hahaha. Next time they came to visit I showed them all of my ladies. They seemed very impressed with the amount of information I was providing and the professional products i used and stuff, hahaha. Parents can be pretty cool sometimes.
