Any suggestions on how to revitalise old reflectors

So I have some 8inch dominator's where aluminium reflectors have become dull and corroded in places. I tried a metal polish but it just made I worse.
I'd rather not purchase entirely new units as I can't find replacement internal reflectors.
So I'm thinking of using a spray paint or film just no idea what would be suitable.

Worth a try to find some Mother's aluminum polish and try again, IMO...WalFuck has it. I've used it on very oxidized/dull 60 year old aluminum and it looks like chrome now

Buy a package of a milar blanket very cheap. Cut a couple pieces and tape it over your reflectors. I do it on some reflectors I made and it works great. Good luck!!

Is this not plastic based? I'm running 1000w in air cooled reflectors

I use this stuff called CPL it's actually a gun cleaner but hubby buys it in big containers so i borrow some when i need it for any bare metal that I need to clean. If it's bad borrow someone's electric car buffer it'll clean aluminum up very quick.

Could you post a pic? Aluminum doesn't take to paint very well.

Depending on the severity I'd have to agree with DoctorDetroit. You may also be able to get away with using a scrubbing pad or sand paper made for aluminum. The beauty of aluminum is if you sand it down it'll form a natural layer to protect it from rust/corrosion as soon as the metal contacts oxygen.

Sun system has reflector wipes claiming it will "restore" without residue. It's cheap, worth a try I guess? New inserts would be best, maybe email hydrofarm(largest distributor)?

Last resort would be an acid wash.

Good luck.
