Any Tips on Getting Fan Noise Down?

Hi, so here's the problem, i have a 4'x4' grow tent that I tried to use inside a small storage. I have an aircooled hood, and a 6 inch pipe fan (350m3/hr.) pulling air through the tent, the hood and blows it out of the room. Then I have a small 4 inch pipe fan (100m3/hr) to vent the air out of the tent. The heat was always around 85° sometimes higher. So I bought an inline RVK fan venting 630m3/hr. After I installed it and turned it on and left the storage room, I found out it was to noisy, my small storage sounded like a factory and you could hear it walking pass the door and also from the street. So I freaked out, packed all my grow kit away and put my 6 beautiful plants in boxes and transferred them to a friend of a friend. We agreed on me taking only 1/3 of the harvest since he has to do all the work from now on and taking the risk to be caught. After that harvest I want to try this again. I see you can buy fan silencers, but I can't buy them here in Iceland and it is very expensive to order online. Anybody got better idea?
Thanks in advance

build boxes for the fans. and use acoustic ducting (ebay).
shit here look at my fans, they are normal fans with home made boxes built over them. you can double the skin, or treble the skin of the box.
use 3/4 inch (18mm) mdf board.
i have stuffed the boxes with cotton rags too.

roll loft insulation around your ducting and tape it tight, if you cant buy acoustic stuff like in my room. this will help get rid of the high frequency broadband noise too.

Thanks a lot for your reply and the pictures, I'll try this, maybe I can buy acoustic ducting in a hydro store here.
