treat your roots well and they will grow fast. messing with lights is just fighting against millions of years of evolution.

let it do what it wants to do. that's what they like. :)

Thought our ladies needed at least 10 hours of uninterrupted darkness?
i have had new rooted clones flower under constant, weak light. i think a short flower photoperiod would have the same low light requirement to work properly.

I've read that red light triggers plants to jump into night mode, otherwise they gradually slip into it. Supposedly like the red light from sundown.

From what I understand, the spectrum changes during solstice, not during day/night transition. That's why it's blue for veg (spring/summer) and red for flower (fall/winter).

I mix red and blue spectrums but adjust for more during their respective cycles. I can't say it's made a huge difference, but it would appear that nodes are tighter under more blue and buds denser under more red. That's why I mix.

what you can do to save major electric in veg only . run your high power hps or mh for 6 on and they turn off but your little 1 or 2 bulb t5 kick on to keep them from herm . so 6 mh / 18 baby bulb works very well if your not in a major rush or if your in a rush but cheap do a 12/12 12 mh then 12 t5 works well

Funny, I never see the sun shining at either 2200k OR 6500k.

I didn't know about the 6 hr process, I was just guessing. Gives me more confidence in the theory anyway. Thanks for that tidbit.

I'm all for experimenting just for the sake of experimenting. Even if it fails, I'll just have buds with seeds or smaller buds. I'm running hybrid clones, so I won't have a definitive on if it helps/hinders dominant strains. Ought to be cool though.

I'll run 2 on that schedule and 2 on 18/6 and treat them the same way. Thanks again for the info.
Keep us all updated with pics etc....
