How does is affect your yield compared to standard MH or HPS lights?

Since you can't really measure the light in lumens, how do you know how strong the lights are?
Basically, I'm looking for some good info on LEDs. I know some of you guys are using LEDs so I'm sure you'll have some good first-hand experience.
