Has anybody ever used a Advanced Led DS XTE-200 grow light? 5w chips, red, blue and white spectrum, 165w draw. what’s the recommended hanging distance and dimmer position for seedlings one week old? Right now it’s hanging 36in and dimmers are at 50%, which puts it at 100watt roughly. I know it’s a long shot, but if any of you fine gents happen to know that’d be great n would save me a couple days of trial n error.

Its really a better if you learn how to treat light and hanging height. How big are the plants under it and what light are they used to? Is there lenses on the light? Try to up intensity little by little, look for signs of too much light: new growth is pale green and the plant has a poor saggy stance. Keep temps up over 80F atleast. Once your at 100% with happy plant stsrt bring the light closer slowly, looking for same signs. There isnt any right hanging height for any light, only the plant can really tell you that. All thhough i agree that there are wrong hanging heights.

If you can just keep buying Cree inc. stuff. SOB is over 70 bucks now and may never go below that. Thanks.

What they said. Plus lower your light. You can grow good bud wit a blurple led light. I used to for a long time. 18" above the canopy to start then lower it in flower. If the plants slow down growing or sometimes foxtail, or even bleach the top of your buds raise the light a bit.

Yeah I’ve had this light since 2012, but I forget how to hang it every time I pull it out. It has narrow secondary optics and the 5w chips require it be hung no more then 22in, but with seedlings it’s 30in and dimmers on low. The seedlings are two inches tall and about 8-9 days old. they were growing awesome, then I lowered the light and they basically stopped growing, that and my temps were a bit low. I raised the light and the temps and overnight the third set of leaves started coming in. I think I’m golden, thanks to everyone for the replies :peace::eyesmoke::hump:

Rocket is Correct........unfortunately(imo) it will take a run or two with the particular light to get general knowledge on distance/intensity.
I’ve had it for ages and shouldn’t have issues, but I seem to always forget how to hang it because it’s a oddball light with really bright chips and awesome secondary optics that needs to be hung higher with dimmers on low, unlike a lot of the other lights I’ve used. Got it figured out tho thanks for the reply
