Anyone find mites in coco?

Concerned I might have got Russet mites in my coco, but it seems unlikely. I'm using a compressed block coco that has been pre-washed.

Wondering how common it is for people to find nasty bugs in their coco? Would this come from the factory, or the store that keeps their coco near their soil?

I've heard people get fungus gnats in coco a lot, but have not heard of getting mites.

I haven't had any problems besides knats. I haven't heard of russet mites in coco.

My understanding is they live on the plant. Not the soil.

Good point. I hadn't thought of that. Yeah gnats lay eggs in soil or coco so it makes sense they often come with.

Never had them, but a number of years ago I was doing a Hempy Buckets and got a bad case of them Fucking Fungal Gnats.
It basically destroyed the grow, I dumped the plants and in my backyard I set up a large pot on my propane bunner and it took three pots full but I boiled the Perlite and spread it out cardboard to drain and dry. Did not have any problem after that.
I switched to coco a year later and have not looked back since.
