Looking to buy a led for veg,This one is 5000k with 18000 lumens?
If you've already got a florescent ballast for T5/8/12 they make bulbs with LEDs in them as direct replacement. Much much cheaper.
Honestly it's probably cheaper to buy the bulbs anyways and also a fluoro fixture separately than to buy a fixture ready made with led bulbs.

Price on the one you showed?

Oh... $54.93 I guess you'd just have to compare. That is only a 2ft fixture and most likely has only 2 bulbs.

171W & 105 lumens/W. Thats basically a touch over what regular led light bulbs give off. No picture under the plastic diffuser revealing what it looks like.

3000k to 4000k would be better. Good distribution of light, can be run close to the canopy. HPS would be better in a cool environment, the infrared keeps the plants warmer.

At 105 lumens/watt, it's more efficient than HPS. At that efficiency, you need around 50 watts/square foot of grow space. The good LED is 150-200 lumens/watt, but costs more.

A handy efficiency chart

still looking for advice on removing diffuser?
Shouldnt be hard to remove the diffuser. Probably a few phillips screws to remove the shroud or something. Hard to tell on a light Ive never seen before though. Take a few pics of the light out of the box and post em.
