I am trying to make up my mind on weather to do ozone generator of filter ozone i know is kind of bad and can take the smell out or the plant or so i hear. but the description on this one states it converts the o3 into co2 and oxygen is that true or are they talking about the natural brake down that happens about a hour later to o3 and will still have the same problems. I know i can get one and mount in air duct, i am just looking at all options.

Uvonair eliminates odors caused by tobacco smoke, molds and mildew. It even tackles the unpleasant odors from pets, cooking, and damp basements. How? The Uvonair generates Ozone (O3) - one of the most powerful oxydizers available. O3 doesn't just mask odors like mere air fresheners - it neutralizes odors at the source, then harmlessly converts to CO2 and oxygen. The Uvonair works silently with the same ozone generating technology available in units costing hundreds of dollars more. Uvonair Ultra Violet Ozonators are ideally suited for small enclosed grow spaces or any other room in your house or office.

i have a uvonair system and it does the trick. i have it in my exhaust vent to take care of any odors my carbon filter missed. i mainly got it to clean the stinky exhaust air form my portable a/c unit. my only question now, before i turn my a/c unit on is: will the heat harm the uvonair system at all?

I dont have your exact model but im very well versed in ozone generators,i have both uv & corona units,my smallest unit is a ozn-jr,its nearly the same output & uses the same uv bulb.

It should fix you up,they are best used within a duct to treat outgoing air,if left in the room it will damage the plants by buning the leaves, ozone burns look much like a very severe nute burn crispy leaves & all.

For the other poster with the hot ac exhaust, unless the air temps are extreme your good to go,ive ran exhaust generators in the duct going from the lights,i had 2 1,000 watters vented in a single duct with the generator getting all the heat from the lights, there is a drawback though.

Having heat on the uv bulb tends to help bake dust on the bulb making it harder to clean,a little rubbing alcohol on a rag & 5 minutes will clean the bulb, the interior components like the fan & wires are built with some heat in mind.

cool! thanks for the input Panhead! i imagine 2x1000 bulbs would equal close to the heat given off by a portable A/C unit. PLUS, my set-up has my hot a/c exhaust air, mixing w/ regular air in a mixing box, to cool it down a bit before it enters my uvonair 5000! thanks again! good grown'
