Anyone in love with LED lights ... is it worth it ?

I ask because everywhere I look I see advertising on the damn LED lights . Im in the market this week for buying some lights for 100 Autos but Id love to hear if anyone has any results with these.

Does it speed up or slow down the process of growing ?

Will you yield the same ?

Will it produce the same amount THC as a HPS

Thanks

This one is still, pretty much, debatable - if it does, not by much.

Will you yield the same ?
Results vary - widely!

Will it produce the same amount THC as a HPS
Many different opinions on this one; most say that "Yield" is somewhat less, but "Potency" is much improved.

Thanks
There are still 3 "camps" on this:
1. Most of the "Devout" LED supporters seem to be either sellers of LED's, or people who want to rationalize their investment. Sorry, I don't mean to upset anyone! Yes, they do seem to work pretty well - but I haven't been "Blown Away" yet. TIME WILL TELL!
2. Most of us are watching, with great interest, waiting to be "Blown Away". I saw a great report, just yesterday, about a new LED light that uses "3 Watt" LED's in an array that uses 7 "bands of wavelength", including uv-B (that's pretty friggin' "high power" diodes - and a good, wide, spectrum to boot!). Maybe we're getting somewhere after all! I don't really remember the name of the outfit - but I'm keeping my ears on!
3. Then, there are the "Haters" and "Nay-sayers" - nobody could convince them of anything, why try?

I think HID's are still the"King of Lights". I say this because they are "Tried and True" - "Time Tested" champions, while LED's are just now comming into their own! But the shit has been hitting the fan, pretty good, for the last year, or so! If I was buying (which I am in the market for some more lights right now), I would still go with HID's (at this time), next year might be a different story!

i got a ufo to test. my plant under one ufo started budding quicker but since then my other plants indoor and out have caught up and passed the led plant. the led plant is darker green with a purple hue and just a little more trichs on it. but all the other buds are fatter. and my test was one ufo 90w 4 band on one 16" blackberry kush, they say it can replace a 400w hps, thats all crap. i have 5 more bbk under a 4ft 4 bulb t5 that are putting on more bud with 200ish watts on 5 than 90w led on one. idk if other people have good luck with them or are just trying to sell them, but at 5 weeks into flower i've already lost interest in leds, maybe when they get better i'll try again, but for now its HPS

I just ordered a few of them in a 600 watt quad band with 3 watt diodes. I had to buy two so I have one for sale when they get here in 2 weeks if you want one.... :)

I gotta admit. Stupidclown has a point. If LEDs do indeed kick ass, why bother with an HPS in the room? No doubt about it, the nugs look decent. But it looks like you have three LED lights and one HPS!

I replaced my hps with LED and am very impressed. Now my buddy is doing the same. You have to do your research and get away from the mentality that you get something for nothing, that is you still need to use a decent amount of watts but the plants are much stalkier with tighter nodes and heartier stems.

My first light was a 600w with 3w chips and 7 spectrum; second light is an 840w 3w bulb 8 spectrum. Now the same company has a freakin 1700 watt LED light!

Here is the link if your interested

keep in mind that 90w will never replace 400w... but an efficient 325w (which is about how much a 600w 3w led pulls) can replace a 600w hps.
I am all about technology but damn dude the 600w 3w LED STANDARD panel is = $1,099.00

OR

I could by this for 199.99 a fraction of the cost and a tried and true growing system that gets the same if not better results as your 1,099.99 LED Panel ~~> http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Digital-600-watt-HPS-GROW-LIGHT-outperform-LED-UFO-/120486164446?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c0d88f7de

LEDs are great don't get me wrong but HOLY SHIT they are expensive....at least to me they are. When you factor in price LEDs defiantly don't measure up.

On the other hand if money isn't an obstacle and you don't mind then I say go for it.

Peace and positive energy to you
