Anyone using T5 Fluorescents to grow?

I was just curious if anyone on here was using T5's as their only source of light for growing. I just ordered a sun blaze 2' X 8 bulb grow light and was wondering if i made a good choice. I was going to get a UFO light but heard a lot poor reviews about how well they work. Now i don't see many threads on here about T5 bulbs and I am wondering if I just wasted my $ on the T5 fixture i ordered. So if you use T5's let me know how you like them.

Well for our sake i hope they work like a champ. I just bought one today also but wont be here till next week sometime. Its a T5 4' 4 bulb system.. goodluck..

check out my journals. growing the 3 plants at a time full cycle with a 6 bulb T5HO setup. bout 41 days into flowering on the bagseed. black jacks sprouted about 4 days ago.

t5's are great for veg. They limit your space though and they do create a lot of heat for a flor. I think hps is the way to go for flower. t5's don't get enough light to the lower bud sites.

will those thing ever come down in price? you can get T-8 fixtures at wally's for 10 bucks, and a two pack of bulbs for the same. No heat either, and superior to the Old t-12's

If you look at klosetkings grow I think you will find that they are good for alot more than veg.

ive been using flouros for over a year now for veg not impressed getting ready to switch to 400w hps have 2 1000w hps for flower and love them

i would reccomend getting different fluoros? you would be the first person i have talked to that is using them for veg and is not happy. take a look at my avatar.... 100% t5HO 6bulb start to (soon) finish. are you using t8's? t12's? shoplights?

T5ho's are awesome. I have them on my clones and seedlings and they put out very minimal heat. I use 6bulb 4' on both. IMO they are very very good for veg.

hmm well ill be honest i dont actually have any experience with those bulbs, though from what iam told you dont get anywhere near as much light, and they may be hotter? i do hate to say it but see if you can get some t5's instead. also, what spectrum are the bulbs you are using?
