Apartment grows?

Any growers here that grow in there apartment that dont have the luxury of owning a house, hows the privacy? smell? I know the landlord has to give you a 24 hour notice before anyone comes into your place but theres often pest control people who can scavenge your place and tip off a grow, it would be a dissapointment getting rid of of your flowering plants, any close calls how do you hide them?

ur pretty much screwed if for some reason they have to come into ur apartment. They shouldnt have to come in unless you tell them there's something wrong in your apartment. I've been living in mine for about a year or more, and the only time someone has come in was when I complained about something.

yah i lived in apartment for a year and the landlord never came in once but i wasn't growing back then

hey bro i tell u this i live in a one bedroom apt and have been for years i have 2 grow closets one 4 veg and one for flower both with exhuast and im using 500 + watts and never had a problem and never will

yeah i live in an apartment too. I have a balcony and on that balcony there is a storage closet (3'x3'x8') with a door that i got a lock for. if i was really paranoid i could get a locksmith to come and change the lock, that way even if they came over unanounced, i wouldnt have to worry. I dont think you really need to worry, providing your not doing any large scale growing. is this for personal growth? or you planting lots of em? mine hasnt started to flower yet, so i cant really weigh in on the smell issue, but i think that since mines in a pretty airtight place, i dont need to worry. where are you planning on growing it? what kind of lights are you going to use? if your using high power lights like hid then the apartment landlord might suspect something in ur energy bill. unlikely, but possible. a few cfls dont use much energy, so thats the way to go.
All that said, im still quite the novice, so dont take my word for it. keep it low key and youll be fine.

oh yeah and always keep it in the closets shut the doors and always be there whenever maitenace/landlord/visitor come in the apartment and never give them a reason 2 open the closet door.And the smell can be easily digused before a visit light up a cig or incense candle whatever good luck

oh, and actually; yesterday i was sitting out on my balcony doing some reading and a squad car pulled up in the parking lot directly under my porch. needless to say i about shat myself. i locked everything up but it was a false alarm. my hands were shaking for a while though

also it depends whether ur hydro is all included or u pay for it urself. If u pay ur own , then u have no worries, if u dont , then they may suspect something.. but to be honest , U could use a 400W HID 24 hrs a day and itd only bring ur bill up like $15-$20. So shutting your computer down all the time , getting the cfl bulbs for ur lights , shutting lights off everytime u leave a room, etc. that will fix the energy problem , if not make ur bill go down.

hey i wouldnt worry about a year ago maitenace came by 2 do a bug spray and i had a 250 watt hps seeping out the closet and fans exhausts etc. sound coming from the closet nothing happened i still live in the same spot

I use to live in an apartment for 2 years and grew twice(freedom now). Smell was my only problem, the first time i had 1 plant in dirt and only got 22g, and it only STUNK when i cut her down. But the second i had 3 plants in hydro it started to STINK before I put them on 12/12 now thats a problem so i got my friends carbon filter and problem solved. dont be worried about power unless your landlord pays your bills. some computers use 1000watts mine is 650watts, so if you bought one and left it on 24/7, you would not even be concerned with are they looking at my bill or power consumption(paranoia sucks)............................................Good luck

/HAHA ya no large scale grow here. just a few for personal use in a closet and 400 w hps max, Iv just never owned an apartment and was curious how you guys that do make out, great repsonces , yes the paranoia of being caught would be such a buzz kill
