Are cuttings good until the center is no longer green?

I've had a cutting in a glass of water for about 6-7 days and i peered at the stem which had browned the outer ring of the cutting, but the entire core/center was still green/white.
The brown is not black like at all. The stems are still stiff all the way up.

I'm just wondering if the cutting is still as good as new. Thanks.
Would it be beneficial to dab the end in cloning solution every couple days when the water gets changed?

it works fine but it can take abit longer than modern technology..... Which is fine :)

i find in a warm place is best and you def need to change the water.

people have been doing it like this for centuries

I change the water every couple days.. the first 3 probably had the same water.
The temp is relatively cool probably 60-65 degrees since it's in water.

It's been 7-10 days and no sign of roots. I'll keep posting. The center is still white/green and the outside edge is browned all the way. Plant is still stiff and strong. I believe it took 3 weeks to clone the same plant in rapid rooters where 2/3 took roots and lived.

You are way better off in damp moss/soil, rather than standing water.

Hard to do the way you are trying to do it. No oxygen available to roots.....

I'm having an extremely low rate of success. I've tried 15-20 in rapid rooters and only 2 have worked. 2 others grew roots, but failed over time.
I'm getting a lot of embolisms.

How deep into soil do you put them? And how do I prevent embolisms?
