I do outdoor because I have a 40 W lamp, and I know its HELLA weak, so I use the sun. Sorry I'm not very financially stable enough to buy a real light, but any suggestions? No asinine comments please.

you could put your seedlings under that until they get 3/4 sets of leaves then put them outside

i would love to be able to grow outside but the weather where i live it just wouldnt work count yourself lucky no electric bills

No deficiencies at that stage. The seed itself contains enough energy to get it going. When you start getting your second or third set of leaves... start to introduce a nitrogen rich nutrient. Make sure there is some Phosphorus and Potassium in it as that will help to establish the roots.

Don't provide to much care for them now when they are most vulnerable...look at the posts with the headings like "what's wrong with my babies?" And then do the opposite...you'll know what I mean once you've been responsible for your young plants death...over care is worse than under care...g/l

yup, all weed needs is the right environment, as long as your providing that the plant will take care of itself. There is a human instinct to nurture and protect ur children but when u apply that instinct to plants you end up mothering them to death. Weed is literaly a weed it will grow with very little assistance. Most new grower problems come from overdoing things, over feeding over watering, or general impatience with the growth rate of there plant. Food, light, water and space, once u have all those covered all that's left is waiting for the grass to grow, so smoke a bowel and try not to be so paranoid. You have a long wait ahead of you and if you worry to much you will cause yourself problems. Once the excitement of doing your first grow wears off it becomes a little easier to ignore your plants, but trust me they mostly want to be left alone, mostly

Walter makes a great point. When I first started growing I'd be so concerned with every seedling that popped out the shell. I'd worry about which way to point the seed when it was planted and if I should have germinated it first in a damp paper towel. Then at some point I realized... if the little guy doesn't have what it takes to get started in life, then there's nothing I can do to help him. Nature has a way of killing off the weak... and there's a reason for that. The babies that want to live and thrives... they'll let you know who they are. Those are the ones to raise.

They seem to be slow growing because you put them directly into a large pot. Pot plants spend 90% of their energy growing out the root system until the roots reach the insides of the pot. Then you will see growth aboveground. Next time transplant the new ladies into solo cups or 4 inch pots for a week or so. They will soon "root out" and start growing greenery. BigSteve.
