Are the yields that I see on youtube videos and in seedbank pictures really possible?

Of course I mean for a basement grower like myself. I see these 600-700g per m2 or some shit on these seedbank websites and It all seems pretty unreal if you ask me. A good friend of mine, who has his medical marijuana license and who spend half a year in cali last year growing decent plants indoors and 14 ft outdoor monsters, told me that 1 oz per plant is great indoors, he said it is almost impossible to get more than 2 per plant even if conditions are perfect and the grow is absolutely perfect. this seems a little more realistic to me. But I figured if anybody could answer this question it would be the intelligent members of the RIU community. so, clearing this up for me is well appreciated.

lmfao. ur friends wrong. strains have a lot to do with it furshur. Straight up if i can yield 62gs off a autoflower indoors in 74 days. i would hope its not impossible to yield 56gs with a 4 month veg and 9 week flower.

tell ur friend to expand his knowledge asap

sprry if this is a dumb question but a 4th month veg? that seems a little extreme, I thought vegging was only about 4 weeks or maybe a little longer if needed (assyming the plant is about a foot or so tall)

actually i remember going thru that. its a sannies seed brand. i personally wouldnt buy that and i would imagine theyre exagerating that one just a bit.

I agree that's ridiculous I was trying to clear it up i'm noit the most well educated grower so maybe I'm missing something...lol but all the seedbanks say anywhere from 400g/m2 up to 700g/m2

I don't know much about anything, but I do know you can get more than 2 zips a plant indoors pretty easily actually. I don't know about 700 gr per m2 cause IDK how big a meter2 is.......

It all depends on the nature of the grow, but around 400g/m2 is about average.

If you grow like I do, which is 2 monster plants under each 1kw, I would have a bad yield if it was under 400g/m2. A p is 448g, and the area under the 1kw light the plants grow in is about 1.5-2m2, which gets me to about 650g-750g total crop. That equates to roughly .65-.75g/w which is actually relatively low for indoors. Some growers are hitting 1.0g/w. If I yielded that, I would be pulling about 667g/m2 which is almost the high # they are giving.

Yeah. If you only crop 2z per plant, you either have many many plants, or messed up big time.

Also a m2 is ~3.25feet x 3.25feet

Heh last season I hit a personal best of 4.1oz per square foot (dry/cured), indoors of course. Yes, you can get big yields, but you can't look at it as "per plant." I can flower a 4oz plant or a 10oz plant. The difference lies in the time and the canopy/floor space. Once everything equals out, so does the yield. An example below:



A 4oz plant vs a +8oz plant. Same clone. One took about 1ft2 and the other ~2ft2 of space. It's all about the space.

which doesnt make sense to me
but then again telling someone how much a plant will yield before it is grown doesnt make sense either

Sooo since I'm planning on runnning 5 plants un about a 6ft by 6fyt area under a 400watt hps I should not be looking for harvest per plant but total harvest? And I'm running them from seed, I don't think I'm skilled enough to clone yet. veg until they are almost 12 in and then flower 7-9 weeks.......

mate you are mad your friend must be back in 50s the strains nowadays with the genetics are graet and my friends uncle gets 3.5 ounce dry off his chhese plants 33 oz off 10 of the pure stinky cheese great smoke

Assuming a relatively intelligent setup and good equipment, a 400HPS is good for 6-7 square feet depending on the reflector and the growing style. 5 plants are not a problem in that space, if they're of manageable size. FWIW, with most Indica-dom hybrids I veg for 5 weeks from seed. First 2 weeks under T5s and 3 weeks (LST'd) under HPS'. In some cases, I veg for ~2-3 weeks from seed in anticipation of a big stretch. I'd suggest searching for the strain you'll be growing an noting other folks' experiences with it from seed. The height of the plant, itself, isn't necessarily indicative of much at this stage. HTH

Breeder numbers ate typically based on a meter squared SOG under a 1000HPS. Take them as a relative measure. Meaning, if a breeder outlines a specific strain as his highest yielding with a given number, that number isn't comparable to other breeders' estimates for their own strains. IOW, this really doesn't mean much. lol

m2=9sf(3x3). guys it takes a lot of work, great enviromental control, and good genetics but easily done. my 12 plant system in about a 12sf area averages 3.5oz per plant and some strains hit 5-6oz. but when i started it was hard to even get 1oz per plant. learning curve.
